Mode of Answering in the Exam

Candidates need to answer questions on specially designed optical machine-readable response (OMR) sheet, which are to be evaluated by Optical Mark Recognition method. Hence, you must follow a correct process of marking.

You’ll find four alternative answers for each question. Candidates need to provide answer to the questions simply by darkening the appropriate circle completely with black/blue ball point pen.

If you follow any other approach of marking like filling with pencil, filling the bubble incompletely, tick mark, cross mark, circular mark, dot mark, erasing, over writing, scratching, marking outside the bubble, white ink etc will be considered a wrong response.

You can’t edit/change/erase/modify response marking and hence you need to ensure before you start answering questions.

Scoring Methodology

Category I

  • Only one option is correct.
  • 1 mark will be awarded for every correct response.
  • -1/4 marks deducted for every incorrect response.
  • Not attempted question will count zero marks.

Category II

  • Only one option is correct.
  • 2 mark will be awarded for every correct response.
  • -1/2 marks deducted for every incorrect response.
  • Not attempted question will count zero marks.

Category III

  • 2 mark will be awarded for every correct response.
  • For partially correct response, marks awarded = 2 x (no. of correct options marked ÷total no. of correct options).
  • No negative marking

Negative Marking

  • There will be a negative marking of ¼ marks for the questions from category 1.
  • ½ marks will be deducted for a wrong answer in case of category-2 questions.
  • As there will be more than one correct option in Category -3 question, there will be no negative marking.

If you want to really score well in the exam then you must prepare according to its prescribed syllabus. Not following the syllabus will never allow you to perform well in the examination.
