About Orissa Engineering College Bhubaneswar

Orissa Engineering College (OEC), Bhubaneswar is an engineering institute which was established in 1986 in the Bhubaneswar city of the state of Odisha. The Institute is owned and managed by the private educational society which has been founded by Shri Kamini Kanta Patnaik. The institute offers various UG and PG courses in engineering in different disciplines. The then chief minister of Orissa (Odisha) Shri Biju Patnaikinaugurated the institute. Candidates can take admission in the institute to pursue the B.Tech, M.Tech and MBA courses. The college has got the affiliation from the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) and has also been approved by AICTE.

Admission Process

Admission process for B.Tech programme

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent from any recognised board of secondary education.
• The aspirant needs to have studied the Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects from Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology/ Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology/ Geology / Statics at the higher secondary level.
• The candidate must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in aggregate. 

Admission process for M.Tech programme

• Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field in Engineering from a recognised institute or university.
• Candidates need to have appeared in the GATE and obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination.
