MHT CET 2019: Application Form, Important dates, Eligibility Criteria

The MHT CET 2019 is organized by the Government of Maharashtra, State Common Entrance Test Cell every year. It is a state-level entrance examination conducted for offering admission into the 1st year of full-time degree programmes of engineering, technology, and pharmacy. The candidates qualifying the MHT CET 2019 will be granted enrolment in various reputed colleges & institutions of Maharashtra state. MH CET 2019 Important Dates

Below, we are providing the expected schedule for MHT CET 2019. Candidates should note that these exam dates are not official. The dates mentioned in this table are tentative and are based on previous year data. After the official release of exam dates, we will update the same in this post.

Eligibility Criteria for MHT CET 2019

All the applicants are advised to first read the important eligibility criteria and then proceed further. Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the authority are allowed to write in the entrance examination. The MHT CET 2019 eligibility criteria in detail are provided below:


Maharashtra State Candidature:

  • Candidates who are domicile of Maharashtra or are born in this state and have passed their SSC and HSC or Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc exam from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State are eligible.
  • The applicants whose mother or father is domicile of Maharashtra are eligible too.
  • The candidate whose mother or father is employee of Government of India and is posted in Maharashtra before the last date for submission of application form can apply.
  • Applicants whose mother or father is employee/ retired employee of Government of Maharashtra can apply for MHT CET 2019.
  • Candidates passing SSC and/ or HSC Examination from a recognized institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area or from Maharashtra, residing in the disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi can apply.

All India Candidature:

The candidates of Indian nationality can apply under this category.

Minority Candidature:

The candidates belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from Maharashtra are eligible under this category.

Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature:

  • The children of citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or to a relatively safer place in Jammu and Kashmir from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities; or
  • The children of officers belonging to IAS, IPS, IFS, or military and paramilitary forces transferred to J&K and J&K police who joined the post on or before the last date for submission of application.

Educational Qualification

For engineering and technology courses:

  • The candidates who have passed HSC (or equivalent) exam with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical or Vocational subjects or those who have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology or those who have passed B.Sc. Degree (with Mathematics at 10+2 level) from a recognized university are considered eligible for MHT CET 2019.
  • A minimum of 50% marks (45% for backward class and PWD candidates of Maharashtra) should be secured in the qualifying exam.

For pharmacy courses:

  • Those who have passed HSC or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Biology can apply for B.Pharma and Pharma-D courses.
  • The candidates who have passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy from institutes affiliated to State Board having approval of competent central authority and State Government are eligible for Pharma-D course.
  • A minimum of 50% marks (45% for backward class and PWD candidates of Maharashtra) should be secured in the qualifying exam.

Note: Female candidates are not eligible for admission to Mining Engineering course.

MHT CET 2019 Application Form: How to apply?

Interested and eligible applicants will get the application form for MHT CET 2019 through online mode only. Most probably, the authority will release the application form in the month of January. No other mode will be entertained for the submission of MHT CET application form 2019.

The first step will be registration of the candidates. A registration form will appear by clicking on the ‘apply online’ button on the official website. The candidates will have to provide their personal details like name, mobile number, email id, etc and upload their photograph and signature. The images must be uploaded in JPG format and the size of the photograph should be between 15 KB to 50 KB and signature should be 5 KB to 20 KB. After the form is submitted, an application number is generated.

Application Fee:

The next step will be the submission of application fee.

The MHT CET 2019 application fee for General category is Rs. 800/- and Rs. 600/- for reserved category candidates (only of Maharashtra).

Candidates can make the application fee payment through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ IMPS/ Internet Banking/ Cash Cards.

After the submission fee, a printout of the confirmation page should be taken and kept safe for future use.

MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern

Candidates those apply for pharmacy courses have to appear for Paper II and Paper I or Paper III. Those applying for engineering courses have to appear for Paper I and Paper II.

  • The exam will be conducted in offline mode (OMR sheet).
  • Each question in Paper I will carry 2 marks and the questions in Paper II and III will carry 1 mark each.
  • There will be no negative marking.
  • The medium of Paper I will be in English only. However, Paper II and III will be in English/ Marathi/ Urdu.

MHT CET Syllabus 2019

The syllabus of MHT CET 2019 will be comprised of topics/ chapters from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics subjects. The MHT 2019 CET syllabus will be completely based on 11th and 12th standard curriculum of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

Admit Card

Candidates can obtain the admit card for MHT CET 2019 through online mode. The authority will issue the hall ticket most likely in the month of April. The admit card will include details related to the exam such as candidate name & roll no., examination center address, date & time of the exam, and other guidelines related to the exam. Candidates should bring the MHT CET 2019 admit card along with a valid ID proof at the examination center. The valid identity proof includes any one of the following:

  • PAN Card
  • Passport
  • Permanent Driving License
  • Voter’s Card
  • Bank Passbook with Photograph
  • Photo identity proof issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead along with photograph
  • Recent Identity Card issued by a recognized School/ College
  • Aadhaar Card/ E-Aadhaar Card with a photograph

Exam Center

The MHT CET 2019 will be conducted at all the district headquarters in Maharashtra. The examination center will be within the same district from where the candidate has passed (or appearing) the qualifying examination. The candidates passing qualifying examination from outside Maharashtra can select any examination center of their choice. The center once allotted shall not be changed under any circumstances.

Answer Key and MHT CET 2019 Result

The MHT CET 2019 answer key will be released by the conducting authority through online mode in the month of May tentatively. The OMR sheet will also be uploaded on the official website. To view the OMR sheet, the candidate needs to enter their “Registration ID” & “Password”. The answer key will help the applicants in getting a rough idea of their CET score.

The final result of MHT CET 2019 will be declared by the competent authority after evaluation of the answer sheets. Merit list of the qualified candidates will also be released and the candidates will be invited for admissions as per the merit list.
