WLCI conducts the AICET every year in the month of January and the eligible candidates can apply and appearing the test to take admission in WLCI. Candidates can take admission in other institutes also which offer admission on the basis of the score attained by the candidates in the AICET.

The application process will start far ago somewhat in the month of October 2017 for WLCI AICET 2018.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)

Many institutes in India, which offer courses in marine engineering, take admission on the basis of the score secured by the candidates in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE). GATE

is the entrance test which is commenced by the Indian Institute of Science, (IISc) Bangalore in collaboration with the Indian Institutes of Technology.

Marine Engineering and Research Institute Entrance Examinations (MERI)

A candidate, who has completed their higher secondary education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, can apply for MERI 2018. After qualifying the examination, candidates will be offered the admission in the Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI) at Kolkata and Mumbai. The institute offer candidates ‘Polyvalent Sciences Graduation degree in Maritime Sciences Specialization’, Bachelor of Science degree in Nautical Sciences Specialization and Marine Engineering.

IIT Joint Entrance Exam (IIT JEE)

The IITs conducts the Joint entrance examination every year and all the candidates apply for the entrance test very year after higher secondary level education. It is unfortunate that most of the candidates are ignorant of the fact that candidates can get admission in the maritime engineering apart from regular engineering courses.

The IIT JEE scorecard is issued to the applicants and on the basis of the marks which candidates have secured in the Joint entrance test, will be eligible to take admission for the maritime engineering course.

Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET)

Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET 2018) is commenced by the Indian Maritime University to select the eligible candidates for admission into the courses of maritime engineering in various disciplines.

The Indian Maritime University is a central university which offers UG and PG programmes in marine engineering. The university has also provided affiliation to many colleges in India which offer courses in the marine engineering. Candidates can apply for admission in such affiliated colleges after qualifying the IMU CET 2018.
