Maharashtra B.Tech. Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are the most crucial part of the admission or the examination process and it is quite necessary for all the applicants to fulfill the eligibility criteria before they apply for the B.Tech admission:

  • Applicants must have completed their higher secondary level education from any recognized board viz. central or state board such as CBSE, ICSE or Maharashtra
  • In addition to that, it is also important for all applicants to have studied the Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects at the 12th standard.
  • Lastly, all the candidates must have obtained a minimum 45% marks in 10+2 examination.
  • Candidates of the reserved category will get the relaxation of 5% marks and thus will be eligible to apply for the admission with 40% marks in the higher secondary level education.

  • Candidates can take the admission in various institutes on the basis of the score or rank they have attained in the ‘Maharashtra Common entrance Test’ (MH-CET).
  • MH CET is the state level examination which is specifically conducted to screen candidates’ eligibility for the course of B.tech.
  • Candidates, who have got the rank card after the commencement of JEE Main, will be eligible to get the admission in different institutes of Maharashtra.

Selection Procedure

The selection of the applicants will depend on the rank or the score they have got in the entrance tests viz. in the ‘MH CET’ and ‘JEE Mains’.

Candidates are advised to work hard for the entrance tests and to get the higher rank because the merit list for admission is prepared on the basis of the rank in the entrance exam.

As higher the rank is as the superior college will be allotted to the candidates.

Counseling / Admission Process

Candidates, who have got the score or rank card after the commencement of the entrance examination, will be eligible to apply for counseling. The conductors of the counseling process will take the final decision about candidates’ college or the institute for admission.
