About the institute
Jorhat Engineering College into existence on 7th January, 1959 as H.R.H.P.O.W. Institute of Engineering & Technology and started operating on 10th October, 1960. The college was started with the motive of offering world class technical education to the people of Northeast. The Jorhat Engineering College is affiliated to Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh, Assam and recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Admission Process
Aspirants seeking admission at Jorhat Engineering College (JEC) under any educational course must submit the application form as per prescribed format. Application form for various courses can be obtainable from the official website of JEC. Submit the duly filled in application form on or before the due date. Selection of candidates will be strictly done on the basis of merit of the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by the Director of Technical Education, Assam. The entrance test is normally organized in the month of May. Candidates will be selected in order of merit based on the results of the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) as published by the Director of Technical Education, Assam.
Fee structure
The estimated fee to be deposited per year for Bachelor of education degree programme is about Rs. Rs 11,000.00/-. This admission fee consists of following two segments:

- Miscellaneous (Festival, Union, Magazine, Poor Fund, Welfare, Enrolment, Caution Money, Id Card, laboratory, Transport, Internet, Library, T&P Cell, Medical): approx Rs. 9,000.00/-
