JEXPO Exam Pattern-Marking Scheme, Exam Mode, Exam Duration

Candidates aspiring for admission in diploma programs of Engineering/Technology and Architecture offered through JEXPO should familiarize themselves with the JEXPO exam pattern. The exam will be conducted by West Bengal state council of technical & vocational education & skill development to select the candidates for different diploma courses offered by polytechnic colleges/institutes affiliated to it. Candidates will be given the admission based on their performance in the exam. A fair amount of applicants take this exam every year but only a few get through it. Therefore, students must study for the exam strictly according to the JEXPO Exam pattern and syllabus associated with it.

JEXPO Exam Pattern

Given below is the complete JEXPO exam pattern with the help of which candidates can prepare an effective strategy to crack the exam-

  • Exam Mode: Online or Offline
  • Exam Duration: The duration of the exam is 2 Hours.
  • Type of Questions: The questions asked will be of Objective types (Multiple Choice Questions)
  • Subjects: Questions are to be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Marking: 1 mark will be provided for every correct attempt.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 will be deducted for each incorrect response.
  • Use of Pen: Only Black/Blue ballpoint pens are allowed (if exam is conducted in offline mode)

JEXPO 2022 Syllabus

After going through the JEXPO exam pattern, candidates should know that the syllabus for the exam will be as per the level of class 10th. Candidates should study the relevant subjects taught to them in their secondary examinations. The questions in the exam will be strictly based on the syllabus prescribed for class 10th. Here are some important topics they need to prepare for the JEXPO exam-

Mathematics: Transversal & Mid-Point Theorem, Profit & Loss, Statistics, Real Numbers, Laws of Indices, Graph, Co-ordinate Geometry – Distance Formula, Linear Simultaneous Equations, Properties of Parallelogram, Polynomial, Factorization, Theorems on Area, Construction of a Parallelogram whose measurement of one angle is given and equal in area of a Triangle, Circumference of Circle, Theorems on concurrence, Area of circular region, Co-ordinate Geometry – Internal and External Division of Straight Line Segment, Co-ordinate Geometry – Area of Triangular Region, Logarithm, Quadratic Equations with one variable, Construction of a Triangle equal in area of a quadrilateral, Area & Perimeter of Triangle & Quadrilateral shaped region,  Simple Interest, Theorems related to circle, Rectangular Parallelopiped or Cuboid, Ratio and Proportion, Compound Interest and Uniform Rate of Increase or Decrease, Theorems related to Angles in a Circle, Right Circular Cylinder, etc.

Physical Sciences: Mole Concept, Matter – Structure and Properties, Measurement, Force & Motion, Atomic Structure, Solution, Acids, Power & Energy, Sound, Heat, Bases & Salts, Work, Separation of Components of Mixtures, Water, Light, Concerns about our Environment, Behavior of Gases,  Periodic Table and Periodicity of the Properties of Elements, Ionic and Covalent Bonding, Chemical Calculations, etc.
