What’s New in JEE Main 2018

  • The authority will not consider weightage of class 12th marks at the time of finalising JEE Main 2018 rank.
  • There is no any minimum percentage criteria in class 12th for appearing in the exam, however, for admission to IITs/ IIITs/ NITs and such other CFTIs, candidates have to secure at least 75% marks (65% marks for SC/ST) in class 12th exam, or should be in top 20th percentile in class 12th of their respective boards.
  • Aadhaar card is an essential document for applying and appearing in JEE Main 2018 exam. This provision shall not be applicable for candidates belonging to J&K, Assam & Meghalaya states.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2018

A candidate need to fulfil the eligibility requirements in order to appear in the JEE Main Exam. If you are a JEE Main 2018 aspirants then you need to check the followings criteria:

  • Candidates, who were born on or after 01st October, 1993 (01st October, 1988 for SC/ST/PwD), are eligible to appear in JEE Main exam.
  • Candidates who have passed class 12th either in 2016 or 2017 or appearing in 2018 are eligible to apply.
  • The maximum number of attempts for appearing in JEE Main exam is 3 only.
  • Three years duration diploma holders can also apply.

All candidates have to meet with above said eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2018. Candidates, not meeting the said criteria, are not eligible to apply under any circumstances. While filling the online application form, please keep all your documents in front of your eyes so that there would not be any sort of errors taken place.

A carefully filled application never leads to rejection. So, we encourage students to provide only genuine information in the application form.

JEE Main 2018 Application Form: Instructions to Apply

Candidates can apply for JEE main in online mode only as there is no any other modes available. Only one application should be submitted by one candidate, submission of more than one application may cause cancellation of candidature of that particular candidate.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates have to make application for JEE Main 2018 exam via online mode only as there will be no printer version of the application form.
  • Please ensure that you are filling the form from the official website of exam conducting authority.
  • Do not forget to ensure your eligibility before you apply for JEE Main. The authority will not allow you to attend all admission formalities till you meet with all eligibility requirements. Therefore, check of your eligibility thoroughly and then move to the application process.
  • You can appear in the exam only if you meet with all eligibility criteria and have submitted application form along with application fee before the given deadline. The authority is not going to accept any application once the last date is over.
  • Please use your Aadhaar number while filling the application form. It will show your genuineness and now it is must as well. No candidates can fill up the JEE Main application form till they have their respective aadhaar number.

Application Fee

Below, I have described the fee range for both, candidates opting exam centres in India and those who are opting in foreign. Based on your preference, you need to make payment of requisite application fee. Candidates can only pay the application fee by using said manner.

One can make payment of application fee either by using debit card/credit card or through e-challan at Canara/Syndicate/ICICI/HDFC Bank. In case, you make payment through any other means, rather than prescribed here, is not valid.

For candidates, who opted examination centres in India

How to Make Correction in Application Form?

JEE Main Syllabus 2018

JEE Main 2018 syllabus provides you a quick overview of the topics and chapters from their questions are to be asked in the exam. Syllabuses for both the papers are different from each other.

In paper 1 the authority includes questions from class 11th and 12th syllabus of your respective board.

Paper 2 consist of questions from aptitude test, Mathematics and drawing. Candidates should download the exam syllabus from the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education.

Admit Card

One, who has successfully submitted his/her application form, he/she can download the admit card in the first week of March, 2018. It will be possible to download the admit card by following the official website of exam conducting authority. For downloading the admit card, candidates will have to enter their roll number and class 12th or its equivalent exam board details.

Crucial Information

  • Just after obtaining your admit card please make sure that the information furnished over there including your name, date of birth, paper, gender, test centre, city, state code of eligibility and category are correct and best of your knowledge. In anyway, if you get any sort of errors in your JEE Main 2018 admit card, then you quickly need to make it to the notice of CBSE.
  • The authority will issue admit card to the candidates on provisional basis according to the information filled by them in application form.

JEE Main 2018 Counselling

JEE Main Answer Key

It is expecting that the Central Board of Secondary Education will issue answer key and scanned copy of OMR sheet for both the papers in the third week of April 2018. However, this date is just for reference purpose and you may find slight variation in the same after release of its official notification.

JEE Main 2018 Cut-Off

As you know that JEE Main is the gateway for appearing in JEE Advanced. Without getting qualifying marks in JEE Main exam, you can not appear in the JEE Advanced exam. CBSE releases JEE Main cutoff every year after completion of the exam. Candidates, who have either scored equal or more than the cutoff marks, can only go ahead for appearing in JEE Advanced.

If your mark is less than the cutoff marks then you will not be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced. However, you may apply for admission based on your JEE Main score.

    • Yes, it is now proposed to be conducted a single entrance exam for engineering in 2018. However, we’ll confirm you only after release of its respective notification.
