Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates are needed to clear Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent examination in an appropriate area or related subjects with minimum CGPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks or first class (for SC/ST/PD candidates relaxation of 5% marks or 0.5 CPI is given).
Note: Candidates, who have done B.Tech degree from an IIT with no less than a CPI of 7.0, are exempted from GATE.
IIT Guwahati M.Tech Admission 2023 Application form: How to apply?
The application form for IIT Guwahati M.tech admission will available online only. Candidates are advised to first check the eligibility criteria before applying. Applicants should keep ready the following documents while before starting online application process:
- A scanned photograph in jpg or jpeg or GIF format with a size in between 15 KB to 80 KB.
- Scanned copy of passing certificate (original/ provisional) and mark sheets of the qualifying examination.
- Date of birth certificate
- Class 10th or 12th mark sheet/pass certificate
- GATE score card (original).
- Final year applicants are allowed to submit mark sheet of previous semester.
- PD certificate (if valid).
- Caste certificate (jpg or jpeg or gif format) with a size in between 15 KB to 100 KB.
How to apply?
- Interested and eligible candidates are needed to submit the Application form in the prescribed format.
- Fill all the required details such as academic, personal and communication details correctly.
- Applicants should upload necessary documents and photographs as per the specified format.
- After the successful submission of application form in online mode, candidates are requested to take the printout of the same. However, there is no need to send the printout of application form.
Application Fee:
Applicants have to pay Rs 150/- (Rs 75 for candidates from SC/ST/PD category) as necessary application fee. The payment of fee can be done in the form of demand draft drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, payable at Guwahati.
Selection Process
Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in GATE exam, written test and interview. Applicants, who are selected on the basis of GATE scores, must bring following documents while appearing in the entrance test/interview:
- Original and photocopies of above mentioned documents
- Printout of online application form
- Demand draft of application fee
