DU SOL Admission 2018- Application Form, Online Registration

DU SOL Admission 2018– Delhi University (DU) School of Open Learning (SOL) is going to release official notification for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the academic year 2018-19. Interested and eligible candidates who want to pursue the undergraduate or postgraduate course from DU SOL are advised to submit their duly filled application form with relevant documents on or before the due date. Those, who get enrolled in DU SOL admission 2018, will be offered books and study material for the concerned programme in which they applied for.

DU SOL Admission 2018 Important Dates

Below we have listed tentative dates for DU SOL Admission 2018 for both levels of programmes i.e. UG & PG.

Eligibility Criteria for DU SOL Admission 2018

It is the responsibility of candidates to understand and fulfill the necessary eligibility requirements before applying for DU SOL admission 2018 admission. The details of DU SOL admission 2018 eligibility criteria are provided below:

Nationality:

  • The candidates of Indian nationality can apply.
  • Indian nationals working in Indian missions abroad and their dependents are also eligible for admissions.
  • Foreign nationals residing in India are also eligible for admissions.

Age criteria:

There is no minimum age limit for the candidates to be eligible for the admissions except in courses where the respective regulatory bodies (such as MCI, AICTE etc.) have prescribed the minimum age requirement in their regulations.

Qualification criteria:

For UG courses

  • BA (Hons) English: Should obtain at least 65% in aggregate in the qualifying examination along with minimum 75% marks in English Core or 65% in Functional English/ English Elective (at least with 1 language (only English) + 3 academic subjects. It should be noted no vocational stream will be allowed.
  • Com (Hons.): Should obtain minimum 55% in aggregate, or 60% of vocational/technical discipline with commerce.
  • BA and B.Com: Must be passed 10+2 examination with minimum 40% aggregate marks. In case of CBSE and NIOS best 5 subject and other boards marks obtained considered for aggregate.
  • BA (Hons.) Political Science: Should score minimum 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination with at least one language plus 3 academic subjects (no vocational stream is allowed).

List of qualifying examination

  • Class 12th exam (HSC) of CBSE or other recognized equivalent board
  • Pre-university exam of an Indian University recognized by DU
  • Intermediate exam of an Indian University
  • Class 12th exam of the Council of Indian School Certificate Exam

For PG courses

M.A. (Hindi) 

  • Aspirants should have completed B.A. (Hons.) Hindi from DU with no less than 65% marks (58.5% for OBC)
  • Admission of SC/ST/PwD/CW category applicants will be done as per University guidelines.

M.A. (Political Science)

For direct admission:

  • Must have passed B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science from University of Delhi with at least 60% Marks

For admission through entrance test:

  • A pass in B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science with a minimum of 55% marks is required. OR
  • A. (H) in Humanities & Social Science including Journalism & Mass Communication/ L.L.B./ Education/ History/ Sociology/ Geography/ English/ Literature/ Modern India Languages/ Psychology/ Philosophy/ B.El.Ed with at least 60% marks is required. OR
  • Those who have passed BA (Programme) with Political science as one of the subjects are eligible too. These candidates must score 60% marks in aggregate and in Political Science (individually). OR
  • The applicants with B.Sc (P) & (H)/B.Sc. in Applied Sciences with 75% marks in aggregate are eligible. OR
  • A pass in B.Com (P) & (H) with a minimum of 80% marks is required in order to appear for the entrance exam. OR
  • Master’s Degree in subjects other than Political Science (from any university) with 70% aggregate from M.Sc. and 75% for M.Com and 55% for M.A. in Humanities & Social Science is required.

M.A. (History)

For direct admission:

  • Candidate should have done B.A. (Hons.) in History from DU with minimum of 60% Marks.

For admission through entrance test:

  • A. (Hons.) in History with at least 55% is required.
  • A candidate with B.A. (Pass)/Prog. degree passed with 60% marks or above in aggregate can also apply.
  • Those with B.A (Hons.) in any subject other than History with a minimum of 60% marks are eligible.
  • Com. (Pass/Hons)/ B.Sc. (Gen./Hons.) (from any university) with 60% marks or above in the aggregate can apply too.
  • Master’s Degree in subjects other than History (from any university) with 65% aggregate from M.Sc./ M.Com and 55% for M.A. in Humanities & Social Science is required.

M.Com           

  • Must have completed B.com with at least 70% marks for general category, 63% for OBC Category, 65% for CW and PWD Category and passing marks for SC & ST category

M.A. (Sanskrit)

  • Must have done BA (Hons.) in Sanskrit from Delhi University with at least 60% marks (54% for OBC).
  • Admissions of SC/ST/PwD category candidates will be offered as per University norms.

Note:

  • For postgraduate courses, a relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks will be given to the candidates who have passed their qualifying exam from Delhi University.
  • The SC/ ST candidates of DU requires minimum pass marks of the qualifying examination and to the other university SC/ ST candidates, 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks is provided.
  • Relaxation upto the extent of 5% is given to the PWD candidates with 40% or more disability.

Application Form for DU SOL Admission 2018: How to apply?

The DU SOL admission 2018 application form for both UG and PG courses will be available tentatively in the month of June. The candidates can obtain the DU SOL admission 2018 application form in the online mode from the official website. Candidates are advised to read the important guidelines and eligibility criteria before starting the application process. The candidates will have to provide their personal and educational details in the application form. The students must enter only valid and true details in the form in the prescribed manner. Candidates must submit the duly filled DU SOL application form 2018 complete in all respects with the requisite fee on or before the due date.

DU SOL Admission 2018 Admit Card

Those candidates who have applied for the DU SOL admission 2018 entrance exam will have to download their admit card in order to appear for the exam. Only the candidates who have submitted their application successfully will be able to download the admit card. The DU SOL admit card 2018 will contain all the information related to the exam such as date, time and center of exam. The candidates must take a printout of the admit card and carry it with them to the exam center.

Results of DU SOL Admission 2018 Exam

DU SOL result 2018 will be announced in online mode. A merit list will be prepared based on the basis of the marks scored in the DU SOL entrance exam 2018. The list will include the details like name, roll number, rank of candidates and selection status. Selected candidates will have to complete remaining admission formalities to get admission in programme applied for.

DU SOL 2018 Admission Process

For UG courses

The admission form will be available in online as well as offline mode. However, the facility of offline application is only for PWD, NHE and FSR candidates. Those filling the admission form online must upload the scanned copies of the important documents and in case of offline form the documents must be submitted during the admission form submission.

For PG courses

All the candidates who are eligible for admissions are required to fill the admission form and submit it along with the admission fee and other required documents at the time of admission. The admission form must be downloaded and filled in English by the student himself/ herself. The application fee payment can be done through bank draft. The applicants must write name, course applied for and application form number on the back side of demand draft.

Documents to be submitted with admission form:

  • Bank Draft of the required admission fee
  • Two recent passport size photographs
  • Self-attested Photocopy of 10th and 12th Class Certificate
  • Self-attested Photocopy of I, II and III year Mark sheet
  • Original Provisional Certificate of Graduation for current year students
  • Migration Certificate
  • Self attested photocopy of Reserve Category Certificates, (if applicable)
  • Income Certificate, (if applying for fee concession)
  • Self attested photocopy of BPL Ration Card as well as Original Income Certificate if applying for Financial Assistance.
  • Disability certificate, (if applicable)
