Expected DU Cutoff in the year 2022

The cutoff factor of DU is based on a number of parameters such as number of applications received, average marks secured by the students, level of difficulty of the exam and so on. Based on the previous year cutoff trend, it is safe to assume that the first DU cutoff 2022 will reach 95+. The first few cutoffs will likely fall between 90 and 99. Candidates should put forward the scores obtained in top 4 subjects to check their respective cutoff. These four subjects should include the language and core subjects. The scores of the best four subjects will determine if the student has cleared the cutoff or not.

How to calculate your score?

  • DU takes into account the percentage of best four subjects including the language and core ones to decide the cutoff.
  • To know the indicative cutoff for the year 2022, students need to calculate the average percentage of score in the best four subjects and then compare it with the last year’s cutoff in the course they wish to enroll into.
  • If a candidate has studied both elective and core in any languages, then the core subject will be treated as language and elective will be treated as academic/elective subjects.

Significance of DU Cutoff

Every year Delhi University releases the cutoffs for admission into the courses offered by it. Only those students are considered for admission who fulfill the cutoff decided by the authority. Therefore, it is compulsory for the candidate to obtain scores more than the specified cutoff if they wish to undergo the counselling procedure. The authority prepares a list of the candidates who are eligible to apply for admission based on the fact that they have cleared the cutoff marks published by the authority.

DU counselling and admission

After checking if a candidate has fulfilled the cutoff for the course they wish to enroll into, they need to login into the official web portal of Delhi University to generate the admission application form. Then the candidate is required to visit the concerned college with the given set of original documents and their self-attested photocopies-

  • Class 10th board exam passing certificate and marksheet
  • Class 12th board exam passing/provisional certificate and marksheet
  • Recent character certificate issued by the principal of the school last attended or by a class-I gazetted officer.
  • SC/ST/PWD/CW/KM/OBC-NCL certificate issued by the competent authority (if applicable)
  • Migration/Transfer certificate
  • Minimum two passport-sized photographs

After the document verification, candidates need to pay the admission fee and complete other formalities related to the admission in their choice of course.
