Founded in 1985, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry is a well known educational institution based in the popular district of Solan in Himachal Pradesh region. The university has been named after Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar who was the first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and one of the famous architects of modern India. The program of study offered at the DYSPUHF is one that is quite advanced and the staff members at the university are well-known to be highly expert in the subjects that they teach. The University has 8 academic departments at the college of Horticulture and 6 departments at the college of forestry. Apart from the university have four regional research substations.

Courses and their eligibility criteria offered by Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry

  • Master of Business Administration – two years (4 courses)

Candidate must have done B Sc Horticulture/ Agriculture/ Forestry/ B V Sc/ Agricultural Engineering or Graduate in other related fields with at least of 55% marks (50% marks for reserved category candidates) under annual system or with a minimum OGPA of 5.50/10.00 (5.00/10.00 for SC/ST category candidates) or its equivalent qualification below course credit system from a renowned University or degree from a foreign University with minimum `B’ grade or its equivalent.

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering- three years

Candidate must hold M.Sc degree in concerned/ related discipline with dissertation/ research thesis submitted in fractional completion of the course in the concerned discipline from a renowned University under ICAR system with a minimum OGPA of 6.50/10.00 or its correspondent under course credit system or minimum of 65% marks in annual system of examination.

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Science- three years (5 courses)

Eligibility criteria is same as per the Phd Engineering

  • Bachelor of Science- three years

Candidate should be passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, English, Chemistry and Biology/ Agriculture/ Mathematics/ from a recognized Board or University with at least of 50% aggregate marks (45% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories) in the above subjects.

  • Master of Science- two years (8 courses)

Candidate must hold B.Sc. (Horticulture)/ B.Sc. (Agri.)/ B.Sc. (Forestry)/ B.Sc. (Animal Husbandry)/ B.Sc. and Graduate with Economics/ Economics and Statistics and Math/Economics with an OGPA of 6.00/10.00or its comparable below course credit system or with at least of 60% under annual system from a renowned university or degree from a foreign university with at least ‘B’ grade or its correspondent recognized by the Academic Council. The prescribed educational marks will be relaxed by 5% in the case reserved category candidates and in service applicants.

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Commerce- two years

Eligibility criteria is same as per the Phd Engineering

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Agriculture – three years (5 courses)

Eligibility criteria is same as per the Phd Engineering

  • Bachelor of Science in Agriculture- three years (2 courses)

Eligibility criteria is same as per the Bachelors of Science

  • Master of Science in Agriculture- two years (10 Courses)
