About Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth
Initially founded in 1972 as Konkan Krishi Vidhyapeethm, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth (DBSKKV) is a reputed agriculture University at Dapoli, Maharashtra. The university renamed into Dr Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth in the year 2001. It was established with a major aim to impart quality agricultural education, research and expansion education in an integrated mode to accomplish the sustainable agricultural growth of Konkan region. The organization has its authority at Thane, Brihan-Mumbai, Raigad, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri districts of Maharashtra state. Its research centre based at Karjat has developed some original varieties of rice. The university laid its major emphasis in the field of horticulture, rice and fisheries. Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth (DBSKKV) also won the Best Institute Award of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in the year 1997.

Candidate must be B.Sc Agri culture/B.Sc. Forestry/ B.Sc Horticulture degree holder or have an equivalent degree with 4 years duration of agriculture associated Universities and have appeared in the Common Entrance Test in Horticulture faculty hosted by MAUEB, Pune for the year 2013-14.
- Master of Science in Agriculture – two years
Candidate must be B.B.A Agriculture/ B.Sc Agriculture/ B.Sc ABM/ B.Sc Agri/ B.Sc.BBM / Bio-Tech/ B.Sc Horticulture/ B.Tech Agril Engineering / B.Tech Food Tech/ B.Sc.Forestry / B.Sc Honors Home Science degree holder or equivalent degree holder with 4 years duration of agriculture associated Universities and have appeared in the Common Entrance Test in Agriculture faculty hosted by MAUEB, Pune for the year 2013-14. For M.Sc Agriculture in Horticulture the applicants must be appeared in the Common Entrance exam in Agriculture/Horticulture faculty hosted by MAUEB, Pune for the year 2013-14.
- Tech Agri-culture Engineering- four years
Applicants must be passed 10+2 examination from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination, with Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English and Mathematics.
- Sc Horticulture- four years
