DNB CET 2022: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, How to Apply?

Diplomate of National Board Centralized Entrance Test (DNB CET) is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to Post-MBBS medical courses. From the year 2019 onwards, this exam has been replaced by NEET PG. So, the candidates looking for admission through DNB CET 2022 need to apply through the NEET PG Exam. The application form will release in online mode and it is expected the application process will start in the month of November 2021.

The mode of exam is also online i.e. computer-based test. Please note that the aspiring candidates have to complete their post MBBS internship before 31st March 2022 in order to apply. All the important details about DNB CET 2022 are mentioned in this post.

Major Highlights

  • Aspirants should note that the National Board of Examination (NBE) used to conduct DNB CET twice in a year. But now, the exam is replaced by NEET PG which is conducted only once in a year.
  • In the entrance exam, the candidates have to answer 300 questions carrying 4 marks each.
  • The candidates will get the chance to choose the exam center city while filling the application form. Remember, the exam center city once selected cannot be changed.
  • The syllabus of the entrance exam is based on the latest regulation by Medical Council of India (MCI)
  • It is compulsory to carry the Photocopy of MCI/ SMC registration while appearing for the exam

Eligibility Criteria

Here are the eligibility criteria that an applicant need to fulfill in order to apply for the DNB CET 2022/ NEET PG exam.

  • The candidates must have an MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass certificate recognized by the Indian Medical Council.
  • Every applicant also needs to have a permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI)/ State Medical Council.
  • Should have completed the internship on or before the 31st March 2022.

Application Form

As DNB CET 2022 exam is not going to be conducted the candidates have to apply for the NEET PG exam.

  • The application form submission will start in online mode through the official website i.e. www.nbe.edu.in.
  • To start the application process, the candidates need to register by providing some of their basic details like name, email address, etc.
  • Post registration, the authorities will send the user Id and password of the aspirants through SMS and Email ID.
  • Then, the applicants have to log in and provide information such as their academic details, personal etc.
  • Additionally, the candidates also need to upload their photograph and signature in the application form.
  • In the application form, the candidates are also required to choose the exam center city. Select the exam center city very carefully because it cannot be changed later.
  • After submitting the form, the aspirants have to pay the required application fee.
  • Finally, take a print out of the submitted application form and fee receipt for future requirements.

Application Fee

The application fees for the candidates of different categories are as follows:

  • For General/ OBC candidates: Rs. 3750/-
  • SC/ ST/ PWD (PH) candidates: Rs. 2750/-

Please note that the application fee will be paid in online mode using a credit card, debit card or internet banking.

Correction in the Application Form

Although candidates are allowed to edit their applications there are many fields that cannot be changed. The non-editable fields are as follows:

  • Name of the candidate
  • Date of Birth
  • Nationality
  • Gender
  • Mobile Number
  • Email Address
  • Testing City
  • Signature
  • Testing City
  • Photograph
  • Category of the candidate

So, while filling these details in the application form, the aspirants should be very careful.

Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Examination: Online (Computer Based Exam)
  • Duration of Exam: 3 hours and 30 minutes
  • Number of Questions: 300
  • Parts of Exam: 3 (Part A, Part B and Part C)
  • Type of Questions: Objective Type MCQ
  • Language of Exam: English
  • Marking Pattern: 4 marks will be given for every correct answer
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer

Admit Card

  • The authorities will release the admit card around 1 week prior to the date of exam.
  • In order to download the DNB CET admit card 2022, the candidates have to provide some details like registration number etc.
  • The information about the examination venue will available on the admit card.
  • After downloading the admit card, the candidates have to affix their photograph on it.
  • It is mandatory to carry the following documents at the time of appearing for the exam.
    • Printed admit card (with photograph pasted on it)
    • Photocopy of Permanent/ provisional MCI/ State medical council registration (the test center will retain this copy)
    • One photo ID proof – PAN Card/ Driving License/ Passport/ Voter ID/ Aadhar Card.

Result

  • The DNB CET exam 2022/ NEET PG result will be declared on the official website.
  • Along with the result, all India and category wise merit list will also be released.
  • Please note that the result will be valid for one academic session only.
  • In case of a tie, the candidates with higher marks in Part C will get a better ranking.
  • In order to take part in the counselling process, an applicant must obtain the following percentile.
    • Unreserved: 50th percentile
    • SC/ ST/ OBC: 40th percentile
    • Unreserved PWD candidates: 45th percentile

Counselling

  • The relevant authorities will conduct the counselling for post MBBS DNB admission on the basis of NEET PG merit list.
  • During the counseling process, the candidates have to provide their choice of institutes in which they want to study.
  • The documents of the applicants will also be verified at the time of counselling.
  • For the confirmation of the admission, the candidates have to pay the required fees.
