The DIT University (DITU) was established on October 28, 1998. Today, more than 2000 students are getting an education in various courses here at the university. This was the biggest project of Unison Group. The other projects of the group are IMS-Dehradun; IMS Noida; DET-Architectural Faculty, DET-Pharmacy Faculty, Unison Law School and Unison University Apart from these, many other institutes are under consideration or under construction by the Unison Group.

In addition to the local students, students from different states of the country from different parts of the country and students from different states of India visit the DIT to study in it. Dehradun Institute of Technology is a technology institute situated on the road leading to Mussoorie in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. It is a leading technology institute of Dehradun. It is 10 km from Dehradun Nagar and 20 km from Mussoorie. It is surrounded by the beautiful mountain range of Doon Valley. There is a paved road to reach here and can be reached easily by a private or public vehicle. The nearest railway station is located approximately 12 km or 30 minutes from here. The distance of national capital Delhi to Dehradun is about 250 km and both cities are connected by road and rail, which is easy to reach here.
