DASA stands for Direct Admission of Students Abroad is a national-level counselling process for UG, and PG Engineering and Architecture courses in NITs, SPAs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded & Leading Technical Institutes. DASA is held annually by one of the participating institutions on a rotational basis. Selection is based on JEE Main, GMAT, and GRE scores.
Admission to Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRIs/OCI to UG courses in prestigious Technical Institutions is being offered under the DASA scheme of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. However, the counselling process for Indian nationals is organized by NIT Calicut (National Institute of Technology Calicut).

DASA Eligibility Criteria 2024

For UG Courses
All Foreign national or Indian nationals studying abroad are eligible to apply.
Applicants must have passed the 12th class examination with Physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects & one optional subject from Computer Science, Chemistry, & Bio-technology from any recognized board or university.
Students appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply for the admission process.
Candidates must be born on or after 1st October 1999.
Candidate must hold a valid JEE Main rank.
For PG Courses
Foreign nationals, PIOs, or OCI category applicants are eligible to apply.
Candidates must have done bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, or Equivalent programmes from any recognized board or university.
Candidates must have scored at least 60% marks or 50 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) in the qualifying examination.
Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination will be also eligible to apply.
DASA Application Form
The authority will release the application form for DASA counselling via online mode only. The application form will be released separately for DASA UG & PG courses. To register themselves, candidates need to visit the official website link.
Complete the registration process by filling in basic & communication details such as Name, educational qualification, date of birth, and contact number.
Once the registration is done, the candidate will be able to log in to the application form and fill in other asked & mandatory details in the form.
Candidates must upload passport-size photographs and required documents in the given dimensions.
Verify the details before final submission.
Candidates have to pay the application fee as per their choice of course & category.
Don’t forget to take the printout of the application and keep it safe till future use.

DASA Merit List 2024
The authority will publish the DASA Merit list via online mode. The merit list will be prepared separately for UG & PG courses. For UG admission, the merit will be prepared based on JEE Main scores whereas for PG admission the merit will be decided on candidate’s GMAT/GRE Rank. The authority will invite qualified candidates to attend the counselling round based on their merit rank.
DASA Cutoff 2024
DASA Cut Off marks are the required minimum marks for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate engineering and architecture courses. There will be a separate cut-off for DASA 2024 for rounds 1, 2, 3, and for each programme. Candidates can check the DASA 2024 cutoff online after the release of the official notification.
DASA Counselling 2024
The authority will invite the selected candidates to participate in the DASA counselling process as per their merit rank. The process of DASA counselling will be held in online mode only. It is expected that the first round of DASA UG counselling will be commenced in April 2024 while for PG courses the counselling will begin in May 2024.
The counselling will be held in multiple rounds. The counselling process includes the stages like registration, choice filling, seat allotment, reporting, document verification etc. After the allotment of seats, candidates will have to follow further admission guidelines of the allotted institute its UG, and PG Engineering and Architecture courses admission.

Candidates must have achieved at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.50 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination.
As per the previous trends, the required rank in JEE mains for admission into India’s top NITs under DASA should be around 750 to 2500.
The Registration fee for all candidates is US$ 300.
No, the DASA quota does not apply to admission to IITs.
