CUCET 2021: Application Form (Available), Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Exam Date

CUCET 2021 will be jointly organized by 14 central universities and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics for admission in various UG, PG and Ph.D programs offered by these universities. Interested candidates can apply for the exam by filling the online application form. The application form has been released on 16th August 2021. Candidates need to ensure their eligibility status before applying for the exam. The exam will be held in pen and paper-based mode and candidates will get a total of 2 hours to complete the test.

CUCET 2021 Quick Notes

  1. The application form should be submitted online only. Offline applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.
  2. All communication will be made through e-mail and SMS, Candidates must ensure that DND (Do Not Disturb) is not activated on their phone.
  3. Multiple applications should be avoided at all cost. No fee will be remitted in case the candidates have applied multiple times for the same programme.
  4. The authority will publish a merit list stating the names of the candidates selected for admission and further counselling process.
  5. Selection of the candidates will strictly be based on the basis of their performance in the exam.

CUCET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of CUCET 2021 differs from programme to programme as specified below-

Undergraduate courses

  • BA: Candidates should have passed class 12th examination or its equivalent from a recognized board with relevant stream (arts, commerce and science).
  • BTech: Candidates must have passed class 12th exam or its equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Integrated M.Sc: Candidates should have passed class 12th exam from a recognized board with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

Postgraduate courses

  • MA: Candidates should have completed a bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university.
  • M.Sc: Applicants should have done B.Sc in relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • MLib and Library science: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks or its equivalent.
  • M.Com: Candidates should have done B.Com with 50% aggregate marks or B.Com (Hons.) with 55% aggregate marks from a recognized. Those who have done BBA, BBS, BIFA, BBE with minimum 60% marks can also apply.
  • LLM: Candidates with three years / five years LLB degree from a recognized Indian or foreign university (As per AIU list) with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate are eligible.
  • MBA: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian or foreign university (foreign recognition to be as per AIU list) with at least 50% marks aggregate or equivalent grade.

CUCET 2021 Application Form

The application process for CUCET 2021 examination is mentioned below-

  • Candidates need to register themselves for the exam using their email id and phone number.
  • They need to provide the following details in the following subsections of the application form-personal details, academic details, upload photo, program, etc.
  • The personal details will include- name, category, gender, Aadhar number, date of birth, address of correspondence etc.
  • After going through the academic details, candidates will be asked to upload their scanned photograph and signature in a proper format.
  • Once done with the uploading, they need to provide the program and university details in the form.
  • Before making the payment, they should go through the details filled in the form and edit them if required.
  • No correction window shall be provided to them once the form is submitted. Candidates must pay the required amount of application fee for the exam failing which their application will be rejected.

Important Notes:

  • The application fee can be paid through net banking, UPI, debit card and credit card.
  • An applicant can further apply up to 03 additional PU’s (03 programmes each) by availing Add-on facility by paying additional fee Rs. 800/- (Gen/OBC/EWS applicants) or Rs. 350/- (SC/ST applicants).

CUCET 2021 Exam Pattern

Given below is the exam pattern of CUCET 2021-

  • Exam mode: OMR based
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Language: English
  • Type of questions: Multiple choice-based
  • Total number of questions: 100
  • Marking scheme: 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer
  • Negative marking:25 marks will be deducted as a penalty for incorrect answer.

CUCET Syllabus 2021

The syllabus for CUCET 2021 varies from course a candidate wishes to enroll into. In case, the applicant opts for UG program, then he/she needs to study class 11th and class 12th syllabus to crack the exam. The syllabus for PG courses will be based on the relevant UG syllabus.

CUCET Admit Card

  • The admit card of CUCET 2021 can be downloaded from the official website.
  • Candidates must bring the printed copy of the admit card to the exam hall along with a valid id proof.
  • No applicant will be permitted to appear for the exam who do not possess a valid id proof and hall ticket.
  • Candidates should keep the hall ticket safe till the admission process is finished.

CUCET 2021 Result

  • Candidates can check the result of CUCET 2021 from the official web portal of the same.
  • The authority will prepare a merit list of the candidates based on their performance in the exam.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend the counselling process where a seat will be allotted to them based on the following parameters- Merit rank, fulfillment of the eligibility criteria, course opted, college opted.
  • Candidates then need to visit the allotted college to complete the admission related formalities.
