Started in 1955, Jadavpur University or JU is a public research university located in Kolkata, West Bengal. The university is ranked among the top public universities all over India for its quality of education in various fields of Engineering, Science and Arts etc. The University is recognized by NAAC and UGC.

Campus

The university has two campuses, the main campus at Jadavpur spread over in an area of 58 acres and the new one is located at Salt Lake covering approx 26 acres. Both the campuses are situated at a distance of about 12.6km and 8.8km from the city centre respectively. The university has good infrastructure facility comprising of all major facilities for staff and students.

Jadavpur University offers various UG and PG courses in different streams of Arts, engineering and Science.

The JU offers all basic amenities in their campus such as well equipped labs and workshops, computer centre with high speed internet facility for staff and students and well ventilated and spacious classrooms. The University also has well furnished accommodation facilities, canteen and mess facility for staff and students. Moreover, the university also offers various events like Sports meet, social and cultural events, debates etc for all around development of students.
