About Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology
Established in the year 18566, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur also known as IIEST Shibpur, is a premier national institution for research and education in the areas of engineering, science and technology, situated at Shibpur, in Howrah district, in the state of West Bengal in India. IIEST Shibpur is considered as one of the Top Engineering Institutes and second oldest engineering institute in India. It is acknowledged as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India since 2014.
Campus
The campus of IEST, Shibpur is sited on the western bank of the Hoogli River in Howrah city. The campus is well connected by transportation to all the major Indian cities by railway and air transports and also by the Golden Quadrangle Road Network.The IEST, Shibpur campus is spread over 123 acres of lush green land. It has good infrastructure with good academic and research facilities.
Courses
The institute offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Science and Management. All courses are approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
Facilities at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology
The institute has good infrastructure facility with well equipped labs and workshops, a central computer centre with internet facility for staff and students, ventilated and spacious classrooms, the college also has well stocked library with large volume of books and Journals. Apart from this the institute also organizes various social cultural and technical events in the college regularly for all round development of students.
Placement
IIEST, Shibpur has a dynamic training and placement department which manages and runs all the training and placement related programs. Many reputed and private sector companies visit the campus for campus placement of the graduating students.
