About Government Engineering College, Surat
Established in 2004, Government Engineering College, Surat is one of the 8th new government institutions administered by the State Directorate of Technical Education. The GEC, Surat is approved by the AICTE & MHRD and state government of Gujarat and affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University. The institute provides an excellent learning environment.
Campus
The GEC, Surat is situated on the Ring Road opposite RTO at Majura Gate in Surat, the district of Gujarat. The campus of Government Engineering College is about 6 km from the Surat Railway Station and approx 12 km away from the Surat Airport. The institute is spread over 2.6 acres of land.
Courses
The GEC, Surat is offering five undergraduate degree courses and two post graduate courses in the field of engineering and technology.
Facilities at Government Engineering College, Surat
The institute offers all major facilities like auditorium, gymnasium, seminar hall, well designed administrative block, a central library having thousands of books and journals, academic block, workshop, canteen, laboratories, and sports facilities. The campus also offers the facility of transportation. Apart from this GEC conducts the Dhvaj Vandan programme, Sapt Dhara programme, Orientation programme, and Karm Yogi training activities for the students in different parts of co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
Placement
The GEC campus offers the huge job placement opportunities for its students who are appearing or have completed the last year of their degree. The institute has an active Training & Placement cell for providing such facilities. The T & P cell arranges the industrial visits, guest invitation, internship, summer training and campus recruiting for the students.
