Foundation:

The Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore was established in the year 1984 when it was started in an obscure village Ettimadai in the Coimbatore district. At that time, there were only 120 students and 13 faculty members. It became a University in the year 2003 and is the youngest group of institution conferred this status.
