CLAT Application Form 2024: How to Apply, Application Fee

The CLAT exam will be conducted by any one of the nineteen National Law Universities of India. Aspiring candidates have to fill and submit the application form before the last date. The application form will be released in online mode, no printed or offline application form will be accepted by the university.

There will be no upper age limit for any of the UG and PG courses. Candidates are advised to read the eligibility criteria before submitting the application form. In this article, we are providing complete details about the procedure to submit the CLAT Application Form 2024.

The official schedule for the CLAT exam is given in the table below. Few dates have been updated based on the latest notification released by the concerned authority:

How to fill CLAT Application Form 2024?

The Online CLAT Application form will be accessed from the official website. A direct link to the application form will also be made available on this page.

Follow the below-mentioned steps to fill the Application Form

Step 1: Registration

  • Firstly, the candidates have to register for the CLAT exam by clicking on the tab “Click Here for New Registration”.
  • In the registration form, the applicants have to provide Name, Email id, and Mobile Number.
  • An Email and SMS having a provisional registration number and password will be sent to the candidates.

Step 2: Filling Application Form

  • After Registration, the candidates have to login and fill all the mandatory details in the application form.
  • Details to be entered in the CLAT application form are Programme applying for, Category, Gender, Nationality, State of Domicile, Nativity, Residence, Qualifying exam details, Preference of NLUs etc.
  • The fields marked with a “*” sign will be mandatory to fill.

Step 3: Uploading Images

  • The scanned images of the following documents need to be uploaded while filling the application form.
    • Signature of Applicant
    • Front-facing passport size photograph of the candidate (must be recent)
    • Certificate issued by the competent authority to support the claim of Specially Abled Person (SAP)
  • The SAP certificate must be uploaded in PDF format only.

Step 4: Verifying and Submitting Application Form

  • After entering all the details in the application form, applicants must check the preview of the duly filled application form.
  • In case of any error in the application form, the rectification/editing can be done till the final submission.
  • Submit the application form if all the entered information is correct to the best of your knowledge.

Step 5: Paying Application Fee

  • The last step will be to pay the application fee.
  • The candidates can pay the application fee either by an online or offline method.
  • After paying the application fee, candidates should take a printout of submitted application form and application fee transaction page for future reference.

The application fee for CLAT exam is given in the following table:

Categories Application Fee
For candidates from General, OBC, SAP and all other categories Rs. 4000/- + Bank Transaction Charges
For candidates from SC and ST categories Rs. 3500/- + Bank Transaction Charges
The Cost of previous years’ question Papers will be Rs. 500/- (Not included in the Application Fee)

Mode of Payment

  • The application fee can be paid in both online and offline mode.
  • For online payment, a candidate can use any of these online methods: debit card, credit card, pay wallet, RuPay, Internet Banking etc.
  • In case of paying the application fee by an offline method, the candidates have to take a printout of online generated challan and pay the application fee by cash at the concerned bank.

Note: Cheques and Demand Drafts will not be accepted.
