About National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Manipur

With the backing of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the first campus of the ‘Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) was set up by Government of India at Chennai in 1968. The institute was set with the prime focus on developing manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology.

CIPET has been established as a national institute under the auspices of the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India. The institute is completely dedicated to Skill Development, Technology Support Services, Academic and Research which is acronymmed as STAR.
