CENTAC 2020: Notification, Application Form, Eligibility Criteria

The Centralized Admission Committee will conduct CENTAC 2020, the counselling for various UG courses offered by the government colleges in Pondicherry and other states/UTs.  The counselling is done for the courses such as Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, Medical, etc.  Interested candidates need to apply for it to be eligible for admission in the courses stated above. The counselling process is done only through the online mode. Therefore, candidates need to visit the official website to apply for the same.

It is important for the candidates to know that the committee doesn’t conduct the entrance exam for admission into the said courses. Candidates aspiring for admission in MBBS/BDS/BAMS must appear for NEET Exam before applying for the CENTAC 2020 counselling. The admission will be granted as per the marks scored by the students in class 12th or equivalent board examination. CENTAC 2020 Application Form

Students can apply for the CENTAC through its official website. They need to register themselves for the counseling using details such as Name, DOB, HSC Registration number, Email ID, Mobile number etc. The registration details will be sent to the candidates on their Email ID and mobile number. The same should be used to login into the website for the application form filling. The details in the form should be entered carefully. Students also should keep the scanned documents ready while filling the form. It is mandatory for all to pay the required application fee for the CENTAC 2020. The authority will reject the applications of the candidates who fail to pay the application fee stated below.

Mode of Payment: The fee stated above can be paid either through credit card/debit card/net banking or through Demand Draft.

  • The DD is only applicable for Group-IV and VI.
  • Candidates should write their name and registration number on the back side of the DD.
  • The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of “The coordinator, CENTAC” payable at Puducherry and must be sent at the address given-

Eligibility Criteria for CENTAC 2020

The eligibility criteria for different UG courses offered by colleges through CENTAC are-

Nationality: Indian

Age Criteria:

  • Minimum 17 years for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Sc/B.V.Sc/ B.P.T courses.
  • Candidates opting for B.Tech should not be more than 21 years old as on 31st December 2020.
  • No age limit for LLB/BA LLB/B.Pharm/B.Tech (Lateral Entry) Course.

For MBBS/BDS: Applicants should have passed class 12th or equivalent with 50% marks (40% marks for reserved category candidates) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology.

Applicants should also have passed in English as one of the subjects in class 12th. However, NEET is mandatory for all the candidates.

BAMS: Applicants should have passed class 12th with 50% marks in PCB subject group. Candidates should also qualify in these subjects and in English by scoring individual pass marks.

For B.Tech: Candidates must have passed class 12th with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and one of the subjects Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer science. A candidate must have scored minimum 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category candidates).

For B.Pharm: Candidates must have qualified class 12th with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and one of the subjects Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer science. A candidate also must have got 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category candidates) in class 12th.

CENTAC 2020 Result and Counselling

The result will be displayed in form of a merit list on the official website of CENTAC. Candidates can check their result from the same by login into it using the Email ID and password. The final merit list will be announced in the 3rd week of June. The counselling will begin from the last week of June. Candidates should regularly visit the website for fresh updates on the CENTAC 2020. Before the counselling, students will undergo the document verification process where the original documents will be checked thoroughly by the authority.

A seat will be allotted to the candidates depending on the choice filled by them during the counselling and the seats available. In case, the preferred college or branch is not provided, then the candidates can opt to sit for the next round of the CENTAC counselling. Once the candidates are satisfied with the seats allotted to them, they need to report to the concerned college within the stipulated time to finish the admission formalities.
