CENTAC 2022: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Admission Process

CENTAC 2022 registration process will start from 2nd week of May 2022 in online mode. Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) Puducherry is the authority responsible for managing admission to various undergraduate courses in colleges of UT of Puducherry. Through CENTAC, candidates can get admission to various medical, engineering, and pharmacy courses. There will not be any entrance test. Candidates will either be shortlisted based on their qualifying exam performance or NEET depending upon the course. Interested candidates have to fill and submit the application form before the last date that may fall in 3rd week of May 2022. CENTAC 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality Criteria

  • The candidate should be an Indian National. However, French Nationals residing in the UT of Puducherry and covered by the terms of the Treaty of Cession shall be treated on par with Indian Nationals, for the purpose of admission to all the courses.

The age limits are different for various courses as given below.

UG Arts and Science Courses

  • The age of a candidate should be less than 21 years as of 1st July 2022. SC/ ST candidates will get a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit. PWD candidates will get an age relaxation of 5 years.

UG Performing & Fine Arts Courses

  • Candidates must not have completed the age of 23 years as of 1st July 2022. However, age relaxation of 3 years will be given to physically challenged, Scheduled Caste, and ST candidates.

Educational Qualification

The academic qualification requirement is different for various courses as given below.

MBBS and BDS

  • Candidates must have passed the H.Sc. (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology, Botany, and Zoology. (40% marks for OBC/ BCM/ MBC/ EBC/ BT/ SC/ ST candidates)

BAMS

  • Aspirants should have cleared the H.Sc. (Academic) or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks (45% in case of OBC/ BCM/ MBC/ EBC/ OPH candidates and 40% marks for SC/ ST/ BT& OPH candidates)

B.V.Sc. & A.H.

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Biology/ Botany/ Zoology, Physics and Chemistry (40% in case of OBC/ BCM/ MBC/ EBC/ BT/ SC/ ST candidates)

  • BPA (Music): Must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent exam.
  • BPA (Dance): Should have cleared 10+2 or any equivalent exam.

CENTAC 2022 Application Form

CENTAC 2022 application form will release in online mode only. Those interested candidates who are looking to apply need to fill and submit the application form through the official website of Centralized Admission Committee, Puducherry. Complete details related to CENTAC application process are as follows.

  • To start the application process, candidates have to visit the official website of CENTAC Puducherry https://www.centacpuducherry.in and sign up.
  • At the time of signing up, aspirants will be asked to provide their basic details like name, date of birth, contact details, password, etc.
  • Candidates will be able to log in after registration and access the main application form.
  • In the main application form, aspirants need to provide their complete educational, personal, and contact details.
    • Personal Details: Gender, Date of birth, Nationality, Mother tongue, etc.
    • Qualification Details: Qualifying exam passed, marks secured, subjects studied in the qualifying examination, etc.
  • It is also necessary to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature.
  • Additionally, candidates are also required to upload self-attested copies of the following documents.
    • Mark Sheets of the Qualifying Examination.
    • Residence Certificate (For Govt. Quota Seats) as per the format of the Revenue Department.
    • Certificate in support of the claim for reservation under different categories, viz., Community / Persons with Disability / Freedom Fighter / Ex-serviceman/ Meritorious Sports Persons. (For Claiming Reservation benefit)
    • Rural Certificate (only Rural Government Colleges will be considered). (Applicable only for Undergraduate Arts, Science, Commerce Courses)
    • Regional Reservation Certificate (Applicable only for Professional under Graduate).
  • An application form will not be considered valid until a candidate pays the application fee.
  • It is advised to take a printout of the application form submitted and fee receipt for future references.

Application Fee

The application fees for candidates of different categories are as follows.

  • For one course: Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for reserved category)
  • For two course: Rs.900/- (Rs.450/- for reserved category)
  • For three course: Rs. 1200/- (Rs.450/- for reserved category)

Mode of payment: Application fees can be paid online using a credit card, debit card, or internet banking.

CENTAC 2022 Selection Process

Here is quick overview of CENTAC 2022 selection process:

  • The selection of candidates into all the courses except MBBS & BDS is based on 10+2 merit.
  • For medical courses like MBBS and BDS, the selection of candidates will be on the basis of NEET scores.
  • Candidates selected based on merit lists have to participate in the counselling process to confirm their admission.

CENTAC 2022 Merit List

  • Once the application form submission process gets over, CENTAC will release the merit list of candidates selected for admission.
  • At first, provisional merit lists will be released so that candidates can raise an objection if they want.
  • Final merit lists will be prepared after considering all objections submitted.
  • Aspirants should note that there will be different merit lists for Government Quota Seats & Management Quota Seats.
  • No objections will be accepted after the release of the final merit list.

CENTAC 2022 Counselling

  • Only those candidates will be allowed to participate in CENTAC 2022 counselling process who get their names on the merit list.
  • The counselling will be held in online mode through the official website. However, CENTAC reserves the right to conduct counselling in offline mode.
  • Complete details related to the counselling process will also be sent to candidates through Email, SMS, etc.
  • During the counselling process, candidates have to carry their original documents for verification.
  • The counselling process may take place in multiple rounds depending upon the availability of seats.

Answer: No, there will not be any entrance examination to select candidates for admission.
