BVP CET Law 2024: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Pattern, Dates

Bharati Vidyapeeth University (BVP, Pune) annually organizes the common entrance test for admission into various law courses of duration 3 years and 5 years offered by it. These law programs include- LLB, BBA LLB, and BA LLB. Admission will be granted to the candidates based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam. Candidates must apply for the BVP CET law 2024 to be eligible for the exam.

BVP CET Law 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Given below are the eligibility criteria for the law entrance exam –

For LLB: Candidates should have passed the bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent from a recognized university and have secured at least 45% aggregate marks (40% marks for those belonging to the SC/ST community).

For BBA LLB: A candidate should have passed class 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized board/university and have obtained a minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% marks for SC/ST candidates).

For BA LLB: Applicants should have passed class 12th or its equivalent from a recognized board/university with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST applicants).

BVP CET Law 2024 Application Form

The application form for the law entrance exam can only be filled via online mode. Candidates need to visit the official website of the university to fill the form. The form must be filled and submitted before or on the deadline specified for it. The forms received after passing of the deadline will not be entertained by the authority. Applicants must fill the particular asked in the form very carefully as they will not be provided a window of opportunity to edit their details in the form once it is submitted.

Candidates also need to upload the scanned photograph and signature in the form. All the applicants must pay the required application fee prior to the form submission. The authority will reject the application of the candidates who failed to pay the application fee on time or submit the incomplete form.

Application Fee

Candidates must pay an application fee of Rs. 1200/- for the exam. The fee is non-refundable and can be paid through the online payment mode i.e. by using the credit card/net banking/debit card.

BVP CET Law 2024 Syllabus

The syllabus of BVP CET law 2024 exam is common in nature. Candidates need to prepare the following topics to score good marks in the exam-

English Grammar, Usage and Comprehension: This section will assess the candidate’s ability to understand the English language, its usage and comprehension skills. Here candidates need to focus on the grammar, Idioms and Phrases, Active-Passive voice, Odd-one out, Tenses, Vocabulary, Antonym, Synonym, Passage reading and understanding, Sentence rearrangement, error spotting etc.

Legal aptitude, Analytical Ability, and Logical Reasoning: This section deals with the logical, analytical and legal reasoning skills of a candidate. The questions will be asked on the topics such as direction sense, blood relation, decision making, analogy, classification, puzzle, sitting arrangement, legal terms, coding-decoding, syllogism etc.

Current Affairs and General Knowledge: This part of the question paper assesses the candidate’s knowledge of current affairs. Here questions will be asked about the current event of national/international importance, Indian history, books and authors, environment, famous personality, awards, science and technology, new inventions, etc.

Social Science: This part deals with the general legal knowledge that a candidate must possess for the entry in the law field. Here special emphasis will be given to the Indian constitution and the political system in India. But the candidates also need to study major landmark judgments by the apex court and other aspects of the judiciary.

Preparation Tips for BVP CET Law 2024

Due to the rise in the number of candidates participating in the entrance exam every year, candidates should aim to score high marks in the exam. Here are some tips through which they can easily crack this exam-

  1. Go through the syllabus first and analyze the topic you need more focus in.
  2. Practice reasoning every day.
  3. Read a good newspaper like “The Hindu”, “Times of India” and “Hindustan times” to stay updated on the current events happening in and around the world.
  4. Note down the major judgments by the Supreme Court, High Court and NGT in a separate notebook.
  5. Strengthen your English vocabulary by reading English novels, and magazines.
  6. List the key Articles in Indian Constitution and paste it on the wall. It will help you memorize them easily.

BVP CET Law 2024 Admit Card

The admit card for the BVP CET law exam will be available online on the official website. Candidates can download the same after submitting the application form. They should take a printout copy of the hall ticket for further use. It is mandatory for the applicants to bring along the admit card and a valid ID proof to the exam center, failing which they won’t be allowed to take the test.

If a candidate lost the hall ticket due to any reason, then he/she needs to bring the application fee receipt, latest photograph and ID proof to obtain the duplicate admit card.

BVP CET Law 2024 Result and Counselling

The result of the BVP CET Law 2024 will be made available on the official website of the University. Candidates can check the same by login into the web portal. A merit list will be prepared separately for each law course displaying the names of the candidates qualified in the exam as per the scores secured by them.

The shortlisted candidates will be then called for the counselling where a seat will be allotted to them based on their merit rank. A candidate must score minimum 50% marks in the entrance test to qualify it.
