Applications have been invited by Cochin University of Science and Technology for admission to B.Tech courses and all other PG courses through CUSAT (CAT) 2023. CUSAT University holds Common Admission Test (CAT), Departmental Admission Test (DAT) and Lateral Entry Test (LET) every year.  Below, you can check the complete details of CUSAT (CAT) 2023.

CUSAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must satisfy the necessary eligibility criteria before appearing in CUSAT 2023.

  • For all Undergraduate courses (except Marine Engineering), the minimum eligibility for SEBC applicants with Non-Creamy Layer Status of Kerala State for admission to B.Tech courses is 45% for Mathematics and 45% for physics, Mathematics, Chemistry put together in the qualifying examination.
  • Applicants seeking admission to B.Tech courses must have qualified the 12th examination of the state of Kerala or equivalent thereto with PCM.
  • Candidates, who belong to the Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) and Kerala Scheduled Cast (KSC) communities, will eligible only if they have obtained minimum passing marks in the qualifying examination apart from Marine Engineering.
  • In case of PG Programmes, SEBC-NCL applicants of Kerala state will be eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum compulsory marks for qualifying examination unless or else specified.
  • Applicants having valid GATE score will be eligible for 5% relaxation in the qualifying examination marks for M.Tech courses.
  • Candidates seeking admission to MBA programmes should have qualify CMAT/ MAT/ CAT.
  • Candidates who apply for M.Tech courses (except Marine engineering), they have to qualify GATE or DAT (organized by the university).
  • All Indian/ PIO/ Foreign/applicants can apply.

CUSAT 2023 (CAT) Application Form: How to apply?

The CUSAT 2023 Application Form will be available online at the official website of the university. The process of online registration may commence from February 2023.

After successful registration, take the confirmation page for the future use. Candidates are not required to send any documents via post.

Application Fee

Candidates have to pay Rs 1000/ (Rs 500/ for SC/ST Category) as required fee through Online or offline mode. Applicants those applying for the Ph.D, Post-Doctoral, M.Phil, Diploma and Certificate Programmes, they have to submit the necessary fee at the concerned departments in the form of Demand Draft from SBI or SBT drawn in favor of “The Register, CUSAT” and Payable at Ernakulam.

CUSAT 2023 Admit card

CUSAT 2023 (CAT) Admit Card will be available on the web portal of the university after the release of the official announcement. The candidates can download their admit card from March 2023. The university will not send the admit card by post to any individual. Candidates must keep the admit card safe with them till the admission procedure will be over.

CUSAT 2023 Exam Pattern

First Degree courses

  • CUSAT 2023 will be organized through the online process (CBT).
  • For each correct response 3 marks will be awarded
  • There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong response given by candidates.
  • The question paper will consist of 250 objective types multiple choice questions in which 125 questions will be asked from Mathematics and remaining 125 questions from Chemistry, Physics.
  • The duration of entrance test will be 3 hours.
  • The maximum marks will be 750 marks.

LET Programme

  • CUSAT 2023 will be held through online process.
  • For each correct response 3 marks will be awarded
  • There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong response given by candidates
  • The question paper will include 200 objective type questions in which 20 questions will be asked from English, 40 from engineering Mechanics, 50 from Mathematics, 50 from General Engineering and 40 from Engineering Graphics.
  • The duration of exam will be 3 hours.
  • The question paper will be of 600 marks.

Selection Process

Admission to all the B.Tech and PG courses will be based on the merit of the applicants as determined through an admission entrance test. The selection will be based on the valid score/rank in the prescribed entrance test and marks achieved in the group discussion/interview.
