Eligibility Criteria

Below, I’ve specified the minimum eligibility requirements for class VI, IX and XI, please go through the same before you apply for BHU SET 2023:

Eligibility Criteria for Class VI

Age of candidates should fall in between 10 to 12 years as on 30^th September, 2023 and passed class V exam from a recognized school.

Eligibility Criteria for Class IX

Age of candidates should fall in between 10 to 15 years as on 30^th September, 2023 and passed class VIII exam from a recognized school.

Eligibility Criteria for Class XI

Candidate’s minimum age should be 18 years as on 30^th September, 2023. Now, coming to the educational criteria, candidates should have passed class X from a recognized University/Board with minimum requisite percentage.

Eligibility Requirements for External Students who are coming thru SET

• For Arts stream: Candidates should have cleared class X exam.
• For Science stream: Candidates need to obtain more than 50% marks or its similar grade.
• For Commerce stream: Candidates need to obtain more than 40% marks or its similar grade.

If you are falling under the category rather than scheduled caste/scheduled tribal including BHU employee or physically challenged category then you need to obtain minimum 33% marks in School Entrance Test. However, criteria will be applicable to SC/ST category candidates according to the KVS norms.

BHU SET 2023 Application Form

Banaras Hindu University has made a portal thru which all online applications will be made. The web url of the portal is www.bhu.ac.in. Candidates are advised to apply for BHU SET through this website only as the form sent in any other mode will not be accepted.

Coming to the BHU SET application fee, candidates will have to make payment of Rs.750/- whereas, this amount is Rs.500/- for SC/ST category applicants. The payment of application fee will be made through either credit card/debit card/HDFC bank challan.

Syllabus

Here are the important highlights of BHU SET 2023 syllabus, please go through the same:

• For class VI: Questions are to be asked from English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science and General Science of class V standard.
• For class IX: Questions are to be asked from Hindi, English, Mathematics, General Science and Social Science of class VIII standard.
• For class XI: Questions are to be asked from English, Hindi, Physics, Gen. Studies, Chemistry and Mathematics for Maths group; from English, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Gen. Studies for Bio group and from English, Hindi, History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Maths and Gen. Studies for Arts & Commerce group. All questions will be of class X standard.

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be first shortlisted based on their marks in the entrance test and furthermore, they have to attend the counselling procedure.

Admit Card

The exam conducting authority will email admit card of candidates to their respective email ID they had provided during registration. A SMS alert will be also sent to candidates on their registered phone number. Therefore, all applicants are advised to give only genuine and working email ID and mobile number.
