BHU LLB 2020: Application Form, Syllabus, Preparation

BHU LLB Entrance Test 2020 will be conducted by the Banaras Hindu University for admissions into its LLB and BA.LLB courses. The undergraduate entrance test (BHU UET) will be held most probably in the month of May 2020. The interested candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria as well can submit their application. The application form will be made available in the online mode from 30th January 2020 onwards. BHU Law Entrance Eligibility Criteria 2020

The candidates who wish to apply for the Entrance Test 2020 must satisfy the eligibility criteria as mentioned below:

LL.B. (Hons.):

  • The candidates should have done BA/ B.Sc/ B.Com/ Shastri or any other degree under at least 10+2+3 pattern recognized by the Bar Council of India securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • The age of the candidate should not be more than 30 years as on 1st July 2020.

B.A. LL.B. (Hons.):

  • The applicants should have passed (appearing) their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized University of India or outside with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for OBCs and 40% for SC/ ST applicants).
  • The age of the candidate should not be more than 20 years (22 years for SC/ ST and Backward Communities applicants) as on 1st July 2020.

Note: As per instruction of the Bar Council of India, the candidates who have obtained their 10+2 or Graduation/ Post graduation degree from open Universities directly without having any basic qualifications for prosecuting such studies are not eligible.

BHU LLB Application Form 2020

The application form for BHU LLB Entrance Test 2020 can be found on the official website of the university or The candidates will be able to fill and submit their application form only in online mode. However, the candidate must ensure their eligibility before filling their form. The information related to personal details and educational details of the candidates will be asked in the application form. The candidates will also have to upload their signature and photograph into the form in scanned format. An application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ ST/ PC candidates) will also be submitted to complete the application process. The payment of fee can be done online via credit card/ debit card or offline through Challan in any branch of HDFC Bank.

Exam Pattern

The basic BHU LLB Entrance Test pattern 2020 is given below to provide the candidates familiarity with the nature of the test.

  • Exam duration: 120 minutes
  • No. of questions: 150
  • Total marks: 450
  • Topics involved: General Awareness and Current Affairs, Common Legal Knowledge, Aptitude and Mental Ability. Two sets of multiple choice questions on Language comprehension, one each in Hindi and English (either to be answered but not both) will also be asked.
  • Marking scheme: Each question will carry 3 marks.

The syllabus of BHU LLB Entrance Test 2020 will comprise of topics like legal aptitude, basic aptitude, general awareness and language comprehension.

Preparation Strategy

Admit Card

Those whose applications are processed successfully will be able to download their admit card for the exam. The BHU LLB Entrance Test admit card 2020 will be released only in online mode on the official university website. The candidate should take a printout of the admit card and carry it along with a valid identity proof to the exam center. Entry into the exam hall is prohibited in the absence of either of these documents.


The result of the entrance test will be announced officially on the website of the university. The candidates will be able to check their BHU LLB Entrance Test 2020 results by visiting the entrance test portal. The marks obtained along with their overall and category-wise merit of the candidates will also be sent on the registered email id/ contact number. A merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates and they will be invited to attend the counseling as per the list.


The candidates will have to take part in the counseling process as per the schedule communicated to them through the official website. The BHU LLB Entrance Test 2020 counseling will be done strictly according to the merit of the candidates. At the counseling venue, the documents of the candidates will be verified and final seat allotment will be done.
