The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Assam will be organizing the Assam MBBS/BDS Admission 2021 process. The admissions will be granted into the MBBS/ BDS colleges of Assam to those candidates who have cleared their NEET UG exam. The interested candidates will have to apply to the DME through a declaration form which will be made available on the official website. After receiving the declaration form, the Director of Medical Education will prepare a counseling list and the enrolment will be provided as per this list. Assam MBBS/BDS Admission 2021 Eligibility Criteria
The following eligibility criteria must be fulfilled by the candidates aspiring for MBBS/ BDS admission in colleges of Assam:
- The candidates should be a permanent resident of Assam.
- The candidate must obtain a minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ ST (P)/ ST (H)/ OBC/ MOBC candidates) in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology in their qualifying exam.
- An individual pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English is also mandatory in the same sitting and without grace marks.
- The candidate must qualify their NEET exam.
Application/ Declaration Form
The application form for Assam MBBS/BDS Admission 2021 will be made available on the official website of DME dme.assam.gov.in. The candidates will have to provide their personal details such as name, father’s name, address, date of birth, etc, qualifying exam details such as university name, marks obtained, year of passing, NEET roll number, etc. The choice of college in the order to preference will also be provided in the application form. The duly filled application form along with relevant documents should be submitted to the Office of the Director of Medical Education, Assam, on or before the last date by hand only.
Counseling List for Assam MBBS/BDS Admission 2021
A state merit list will be made by the examination conducting body according to which, the Director of Medical Education will prepare a counseling list. This counseling list will be made after receiving the declaration forms from the candidates belonging to state quota. The counseling list will be published in the local newspaper and on the official website of DME as well. The list will also consist of the schedule of the counseling.
Counseling Process
The candidates whose name appears in the counseling list will have to attend the counseling in person. A selection board consisting of members of DME and other officials will be set up to select the candidates for Assam MBBS/BDS Admission 2021. The candidates must bring the duly signed and completed application form along with all the relevant certificates in original as well as self-attested photocopies at the time of counseling. The self-attested photocopies of all the original documents will be submitted. The candidate will also have to submit Rs. 500/- (in cash) or any amount as fixed by DME from time to time, at the time of counseling. A committee will be constituted to verify the documents and eligibility of the candidates and those found eligible will be allotted a seat as per their choice and ranking.

Assam MBBS/BDS Admission 2021 Process
A Category Wise Select List will be prepared by the Chairman and the Member Secretary of the Selection Board after completion of the counseling and will be sent for approval by the government. The list after its approval will be published in leading local daily newspapers and on the official DME website. The candidates will have to get admissions to the allotted college as per this list. The candidates will be granted final admissions after their physical examination conducted Medical Examination Board at the time of admission. The candidate must deposit their original certificates (admit cards, marks sheets, pass certificates of HSLC and HSSLC or equivalent examination and caste certificate) to the respective colleges at the time of admission. The candidates who fail to complete these formalities within the prescribed time limit will forfeit their seat.
The 1st and 2nd rank holders of HSSLC under Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, who also qualify NEET, will be directly entitled to get admission into MBBS course through counseling process irrespective of their merit position in NEET.
