Assam CEE 2023

Assam CEE 2023 will be conducted by ASTU for admission into 4-year degree course of Engineering offered by colleges in the state of Assam. It is a state level entrance exam which is organized on a yearly basis for the students who wants to enroll in B.Tech program provided by different colleges/institutes. The admission is granted on the basis of rank obtained by a candidate in the exam. Candidate must study hard to crack the exam.

It is necessary for the students to apply for the exam as per the eligibility criteria laid down by the ASTU, Assam to appear for the exam. Eligibility Criteria for Assam CEE 2023

The eligibility criteria for Assam CEE is provided below-

Nationality: A candidate must be an Indian Citizen.

Domicile: A candidate must be a permanent resident of the Assam.

Age Criteria: A candidate’s age should lie between 17 years and 21 years as on 1^st August 2023.

Qualifying Examination: A candidate should have passed class 12^th in the same sitting (without grace marks) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects and have secured minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC and 40% marks for ST candidates) in PCM subject group.

Note:

• Here “same sitting” simply means that the candidate must appear in all four subjects together.
• The first rank holder in HSC examination with more than 85% marks can apply directly for the admission within 10 days of publication of the result to the DTE, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-19.

Assam CEE 2023 Application Form

Candidates can register themselves for the Assam CEE 2023 exam through online mode. They need to provide a valid Email ID and mobile number for registration. The login details will be sent to the registered Email ID. Candidates need to login into the portal using the login details. The application form will include some basic information which the candidate must fill properly and correctly. This information includes- Personal and educational details such as Parent’s name, Category, Religion, DOB, Permanent Address, Marks obtained in class 10^th and 12^th etc.

Candidates also need to upload the scanned photograph and signature in the proper format. It is compulsory for every applicant to pay the application fee for the exam in order to submit the form successfully. Incomplete/Invalid applications are liable to get rejected. Applicants should also take the printout of the application form for the future use. Applicants need not send the hardcopy of the submitted form to the officials.

Application Fee

Applicants must pay the application fee of Rs. 600/- through SBI collect (Credit card/Debit card/Net banking) or through cash deposit form generated from the SBI collect. Those opting for cash mode can pay the stated fee at any branch on SBI bank.

Assam CEE 2023 Exam Pattern

Given below is the exam pattern for the Assam Common Entrance Examination-

• Exam Mode: Offline mode (Pen and Paper based)
• Medium: English and Assamese
• Exam Duration: 3 Hours
• Type of Questions: Objective type (MCQs)
• Marking Scheme: +4 marks will be awarded for every right answer
• Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer

Syllabus

The syllabus of Assam CEE 2023 is typically based on the one prescribed by NCERTs for class 11^th and class 12^th. Candidates need to prepare for the exam keeping in mind the topics studied in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Here are some of the major topics that must be prepared for the exam –

• Physics: Kinematics, Gravitation, Laws of Motion, Current Electricity, EM Waves, Optics, Thermodynamics, Work, Energy and Power, Oscillations and Waves, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, EMI and AC, etc.
• Mathematics: Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Mathematical Reasoning, Sets, Relations and Functions, Statistics and Probability, Linear Programming, Calculus etc.
• Chemistry: Solid State, Solutions, States of Matter, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Hydrogen, S block elements, P block elements, d and f block elements, Alcohol, phenol and ether, surface chemistry, Aldehydes, Ketones and carboxylic acid etc.

Preparation Tips for Assam CEE 2023

To succeed in the CEE exam, candidates should prepare for the exam keeping in mind the syllabus and exam pattern associated with it. Here are some important preparation tips with the help of which candidates can easily crack the Assam CEE examination-

• Use reliable study material. Study from NCERTs first and then follow up the sample papers, video lectures on YouTube etc.
• Analyze the topic you’re strong or weak in and make a plan accordingly.
• Revise whatever you’ve studied at the end of the day. Don’t neglect the revision aspect of the preparation at any cost.
• Take the help of Mobile apps wherever possible. But don’t rely on it solely.
• Stick to the time table. Prepare a practical schedule which can be easily followed.
• Make short notes during studies and go through them before the examination for quick revision.
• Solve mock tests/previous year papers on a regular basis.

Admit Card

Students seeking admission in Engineering can download the admit card for Assam CEE Exam from the official website of the ASTU. They can download the admit card by login into the official portal. The admit card should be printed out and a few copies of the same must be preserved for future reference. Applicants must bring the hall ticket to the exam hall along with a valid ID proof. The admit card must not be damaged or mutilated or else it will be considered invalid.

Result and Admission

The result of the Assam CEE 2023 will be published on the official website. A merit list will be prepared based on the performance given by a candidate in the exam. Candidates will be called for the counselling as per the merit list. Candidates should keep regular tabs on the website of the DTE, Assam for the counselling schedule.  During the counselling, candidates need to indicate their preferred branch of study and college. Based on the preference given, a seat will be allotted to them in the concerned college/institute.
