The Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Test (AP LAWCET 2020) will be conducted by the Sri Krishnadevaraya University on behalf of APSCHE. The exam is conducted on an annual basis for admission into L.L.B program of 3 years and 5 years offered by various law colleges/institutes in the state. Candidates can apply for the entrance exam via online mode only.

Eligibility Criteria for AP LAWCET 2020

Candidates aspiring to enroll in 3/5 years L.L.B program need through AP LAWCET need to fulfill the eligibility criteria specified by the authorities. The eligibility criteria for AP LAWCET Entrance Exam is-

  • For 3 Years L.L.B program: A candidate should possess a graduate degree (10+2+3 pattern) or its equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 45% aggregate marks.
  • For 5 Years L.L.B Programs: A candidate should have passed class 12th or its equivalent from a recognized board/university with minimum 45% aggregate marks.

AP LAWCET 2020 Application Form

Aspirants can apply for AP LAWCET exam via online mode. The application form for the same will be made available to the candidate in the 2nd week of March 2020. Candidates need to fill their particulars in the form such as personal details, educational details, bank details etc. The form must be filled carefully as no correction facility will be given after a candidate has submitted the application form. Applicants will also need to pay a certain amount of application fee, without which their applications will be considered invalid/incomplete. Candidates will also need to keep a scanned copy of the photograph and signature that will be required while filling the online application form. Application Fee

A candidate needs to pay Rs. 750/- (excluding the processing charges) as application fee for AP LAWCET 2020 either by online mode (Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card) or by cash payment at APONLINE/TSONLINE centers.

General Knowledge & Mental Ability: History, Economic, Polity, Geography, logical reasoning, Analytical Ability, Decision Making, Non-Verbal reasoning etc.

Current Affairs: Law related news, environment related news, political news etc. This part covers reading of an entire newspaper. A candidate needs to know the current affairs happening on local, national and global level.

Aptitude for study of law: Constitution of India, Fundamental Rights, Fundamental Duties, legal aptitude, Law related knowledge etc.

Preparation Strategy

Since there is no official syllabus for the exam, it is important for the candidates to collect a few authentic sources first and then start their preparation. Here are some useful tips that the candidates can utilize while preparing for the AP LAWCET 2020 exam-

  • Fix a daily routine by making a time table and follow it whole-heartedly.
  • Collect a few authentic books and prepare from them. Don’t just buy books blindly. Do a thorough research first and then buy them as per your convenience.

AP LAWCET 2020 Admit Card

The admit card for AP LAWCET can be downloaded from the official website. Candidates should keep a printout of the admit card for further use. The admit card should not be damaged, otherwise it will become invalid. Candidates who don’t possess a valid admit card will not be permitted to take the exam. The admit card along with a valid ID proof is mandatory for seeking entry to the exam hall.

The result will be announced on the official website. Candidates should know that the result will be displayed in form of a merit list. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the AP LAWCET 2020 Exam. The selected candidates will then be called for the counselling to begin the admission procedure.
