Anna University Admission 2023: Application Form, Eligibility, Exam Date

Interested candidates can apply for admission to the engineering courses offered by the colleges of Anna University through online mode. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria prescribed can apply for the admissions. Application for UG programs is expected to release in the month of April 2023 and in the month of January 2023 for PG programs. For PG admission, entrance exam will be conducted. Anna University Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UG and PG courses offered at the Anna University are given below:

For undergraduate courses:

Nativity: Candidates who meet any of the below mentioned nativity criteria can apply for Anna University admission:

• Candidates of Tamil Nadu or other states who have passed their class 8th to 12th from schools of the state
• Native candidates of Tamil Nadu who have passed any of the class 8th to 12th exams from schools outside the state
• Children of Central Government Employees whose parents/ guardians if both parents are not alive have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years at the time of submission of application
• Children of employees in Public Sector or Government recognized Institutions who are employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of submission of application
• Sons and daughters of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers
• Candidates who are Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee and have studied in Tamil Nadu

Age limit:

• There is no age limit for any course except for marine engineering where there is an upper age limit of 25 years.

Education criteria:

• A pass in class 12th exam scoring not less than 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category candidates) in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics is required.

For postgraduate courses:

Nationality:

• Indian national candidates can apply for the PG courses.

Education criteria:

• ME/ M.Tech: The candidates should hold a BE/ B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ SCA candidates).
• M.Arch/ M.Plan: Applicants with a B.Arch/ B.Plan degree in a relevant discipline and at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ SCA candidates) in aggregate can apply.
• MBA: Any bachelor’s degree with not less than 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ SCA candidates) in aggregate is required.
• MCA: Those with any bachelor’s degree scoring a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ SCA candidates) in aggregate and Mathematics at class 12 or graduation level are eligible.

Anna University Application Form 2023

For UG courses, the application form can be obtained from the official TNEA www.tneaonline.org website and for PG courses application form will be available on the TANCET website tancet.annauniv.edu. Process of application for both UG and PG courses will be completely online.

• To fill the application form, the candidates will have to provide their basic personal, academic and contact details.
• Photograph and signature of the candidates in scanned format should also be uploaded in the application form.
• Care should be taken by the candidates to not make any error in the application form or else it might get rejected.
• Application form complete in every manner can then be submitted along with the required application fee.
• Candidates can make payment of the application fee via online payment gateway using debit card/ credit card or net banking.
• A printout of the submitted application should be kept by candidates for self reference. There is no need to send the printouts to the university.

Anna University Exam 2023 Admit Card

• The admit card to appear in the PG entrance exam will be released on the official website of TANCET tancet.annauniv.edu.
• Admit card will contain the important details related to candidates and the entrance exam like schedule, venue, etc.
• Candidates should download their admit card and carry it with them while reporting to the exam center.
• Only the candidates with a valid admit card will be allowed to enter the exam hall and appear for the exam.
• The candidates must report for the exam on the center and as per the timing mentioned in their admit card.

Anna University Admission 2023 Result

• Result of the PG entrance test will be released online and can be checked by the candidates from the official website.
• On the basis of marks secured in the entrance exam, a merit list of the candidates will be prepared.
• For UG courses, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in class 12th exam.
• Counseling, document verification and rest process of admission will be carried out as per the names of the candidates in the merit list.

FAQs

Question 1: Is there any way I can submit my application form through offline mode?

Answer: No. The application form both UG and PG admissions will be made available through online mode.

Question 2: If I lose my admit card, how can I get a duplicate copy of the same?

Answer: No duplicate admit card will be provided to the candidates in case of loss or damage. The candidates should therefore take multiple printouts of the admit card to protect it from loss or damage.

Question 3: How can I make correction in my submitted application form?

Answer: Once the application form is submitted online, you will not be able to make any kind of changes in it.

Question 4: Can I get a refund on my application fee if I don’ want to take admission?

Answer: The application fee once submitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Question 5: What if an ineligible candidate is able to secure admission?

Answer: Such candidates, when there ineligibility is discovered, will be debarred from continuing their course. Any kind of fees submitted will be forfeited.
