Selection procedure in Anna University

Selection in various UG, PG and Doctorate program offered by the Anna University will be done chiefly through the entrance test except for UG courses. Those aspiring to take admission in B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch program needs to fill the admission form for Tamil Nadu Entrance Admission (TNEA). Candidates opting for PG admission need to appear for the entrance test i.e. TANCET and they will need to register for TANCA, the admission process to get enrolled in M.E/M.Tech/M.Plan/M.Arch courses.

The Anna university admission 2020 in research program will be provided on the basis of the admission test. The admission in UG course will be done as per the marks obtained by the candidates in class 12th. For PG and research program, candidates will be given the admission according to their performance in the entrance test.

Anna University Admission- How to apply/Application form

The application form for Anna university admission 2020 will be available online. Candidates can obtain the online application form from the official website of the university. Candidates need to fill the respective application form on or before the due date mentioned or else their applications will end up in rejection. Eligibility criteria for admission in Anna University

The eligibility criteria for Anna University admission 2020 is as follows-

For UG admission: Students should have cleared HSC or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/SCA/MBC/DNC & 45% for backward class candidates) in PCM group or should have cleared HSC (Vocational Subjects) with any one of the following Engineering subjects –Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics.

For PG admission: Candidates should have passed a bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and have obtained minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved category). Candidates who hold the educational record according to the following pattern can also apply for Anna university admission-

  • E/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharm or Masters in relevant branch of science/arts.
  • 10+2+AMIE or 10+3 years diploma + AMIE

For Doctorate: Candidates should possess a valid master’s degree in the relevant discipline in which they wish to pursue their research program.

Anna university admission 2020- Admit card

The hall ticket will be made available on the official website of the university. Candidates can download the admit card only through the online mode. To download the admit card, candidates need to login into the website. The admit card must be printed out and a few copies of the same should be taken. Without the admit card, candidates won’t be allowed to enter the exam venue. They also need to bring the valid ID proof along with the hall ticket. In case, there is some discrepancy in the admit card then the candidates must inform the authority immediately and raise the concern.

Result and Counselling

Candidates can check the result of the Anna university admission 2020 test through the official website. They need to login into the portal using their Email Id and password. Candidates who appeared in TANCET will be provided the mark sheet 10 days after the commencement of the exam. Those who will make it up to the merit list of TNEA will be called to attend the counselling. During the counselling, candidates will be asked to indicate their choice of course, branch and college. After the counselling is finished, applicants will undergo document verification and they’ll be allotted a seat in the respective college based on their performance in the concerned exam/qualifying exam.
