AMU PhD Admission 2021: Eligibility Criteria, Important Dates

AMU PhD Admission 2021: Applications will be invited by Aligarh Muslim University from eligible candidates for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) courses in various streams in the Faculties/Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit of the University. Eligibility criteria for AMU PhD Admission 2021

Candidates must satisfy prescribed eligibility criteria before applying admission to PhD programme. The important eligibility conditions are listed below:

• A candidate seeking admission to Ph.D. program must hold Master’s Degree in the concerned field or its equivalent recognized qualification by the University with minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate or its equivalent CGPA/ CPI/NAG, and had also done the Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent recognized by the University with minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate or its equivalent CGPA/ CPI/NAG, subject to any further requirements for eligibility that may be set by the University from time to time.
• An eligible applicant, working in an externally funded research project in the University, may be allowed to apply for admission to Ph.D. course while abiding to work in the project subject to certification by the Principal examiner of the project that the subject of the project and the planned Ph.D. topic of the applicant overlap.
• Applicants who have qualified NET/ JRF / of UGC / DBT / CSIR / ICMR / ICAR / GATE or any other test conducted by a recognized national funding agency will be excused from the entrance test.

AMU PhD Application Form 2021: How to apply?

Candidates can obtain the application form online through official university website i.e. http://www.amucontrollerexams.com/as per scheduled date.  Candidates eligible for admission to phd courses in more than one programme can apply for the same but they have to fill separate application form for each course. Fill the form correctly and the generated copy of form should be submitted in the office of chairman department relevant along with the DD of Rs 500/ drawn in favour of Finance officer, AMU Aligarh, payable at Aligarh or through Challan form in Canara Bank, AMU Branch Aligarh.

The generated copy of Application form must reach the office of the Chairman Department concerned/ Director of the center/ Coordinators of Unit of the University on or before due date.

Incomplete applications or forms received after due date without necessary documents and application fee will be rejected.

Admission process

Selection of candidates in Ph.D. program will be done on the basis of an admission test comprising of-(a) a written test and presentation-cum-interview (for those who passed the written entrance test and who are excused from the written test).
