AMU 2018: AMU 2018 Answer Keys for various courses have been released now. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a highly reputed university which offers various UG, PG and doctoral courses. Application form

The university will release application forms for various undergraduate/postgraduate and Ph.D courses. There will be a separate application form for each course. For certain courses the application form will available online whereas for some of the courses the application forms will be accessible through offline mode.

  • For online application, candidates can visit the official website of AMU and fill the form as per the instructions given.
  • In case of offline mode, candidates are required to download the application and then fill it manually.
  • AMU application form 2018 will available probably in the month of January 2018.
  • Aspirants are allowed to fill the same application form for the programmes for which entrance test will be held on same day such as B.Tech & B.Arch. However, in such cases candidates have to pay an additional fee of Rs.100/-.
  • Applicants should make sure that the information filled in the application form is legal and correct.
  • Candidates of Test programmes have to send the printout of the duly filled in Application Form along with the mandatory documents as mentioned in the brochure to the below address:

  2. Bank Challan: through Canara Bank challan or ICICI

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria before applying for admission. Following are the details of AMU 2018 Eligibility criteria for admission to various courses:

Courses Qualification Eligibility
  • Passed /appearing in 12th or its equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from this University or any other recognized board. They must pass the said subjects with no less than 50% aggregate marks.
  • Candidates who possess a diploma in engineering with no less than 50% marks in aggregate for both the programmes.
B.A. (Hons.)
  • passed 12th or its equivalent examination with minimum of 45% aggregate marks in English and in any 3 subjects from Arabic, Accountancy, Banking, Biotechnology, Biology, Business Studies, Business Organization, Chemistry, Computer Science, Commerce, Islamic Studies, Economics, Fine Arts, English, Geography, History, Hindi, Home Science, Persian, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Physical Health Education, Political Science/Civics, Sanskrit, Sociology, Psychology, Urdu and modern Indian Languages.
  • Should passed Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized institution.
B.Sc. (Hons.)
  • Candidates must have done Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or its equivalent examination from a recognized institution with securing minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Physics, English, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
  • Candidate should have done 12th or an equivalent examination with minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  • The minimum of age of the candidate is 22 years as on 1st July of the year of admission.
  • Aspirants should be completed B.A/ B.Com./ B.Sc. or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks or master’s degree in Social Sciences / Science /Humanities, Bachelor in Engineering & Technology with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
Diploma in Engineering
  • Applicant must be passed 12th or an equivalent examination with at least of 45% aggregate marks in Maths, English, and Science.
  • The upper age limit is 21 years as on 31st December 2018.

Admit card

The university will issue admit card through online mode only. All the candidates can download their AMU 2018 admit card via visiting the official website of AMU University. Applicants can obtain the admit card approx 2 weeks before the date of entrance exam.

Cut off

Cut-off marks are the prescribed minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to obtain to be eligible for admission. A separate cut off marks will be decided for each course by Aligarh Muslim University. Basically the cut off marks will be decided by considering some factors like candidates’ performance in entrance exam, availability of seats for respective course, etc.


The candidates can check their AMU 2018 result from the notice board of concerned college / centre / proctor’s office/ faculty / controller’s official website. Merit list for certain courses will be made after considering applicant’s performance in written entrance exam & interview (wherever applicable).

Selected candidates are required to attend to counseling process in person for admission to courses in the particular department. The university will publish the list of shortlisted candidates for counselling on the notice board of concerned faculty/ centre/ college/ proctor’s office/controller’s official website. The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of marks scored in entrance test.
