AIPGMEE 2021: Important dates, Eligibility, Application Form

All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) is a national level medical entrance exam which is now replaced with NEET-PG. The candidates looking for admission to MD/ MS/ PG medical diploma courses through AIPGMEE 2021 need to apply for NEET-PG. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will conduct the NEET-PG exam and the application forms are expected to release in the month of November 2020. Main Highlights

  • AIPGMEE 2021 exam will not be organized. Instead, the admission will be granted on the basis of NEET-PG Merit.
  • The candidates looking for admission need to apply for NEET-PG exam in online mode. Authorities will not accept offline/ printed application forms.
  • Aspiring candidates must complete their 1 year internship before 31st March 2020 in order to apply.
  • The duration of exam will be 3 hours and 30 minutes in which the candidates have to answer 300 questions.
  • The syllabus of the exam will be based on graduate medical education regulation issued by MCI.
  • NBE will not conduct any counselling. For getting admissions, the candidates have to apply separately for various university/ institutes.

Eligibility Criteria

All the aspirants should check the AIPGMEE 2021 eligibility criteria very carefully before submitting the application form.

  • The aspirant must possess an MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS pass certificate from a recognized university/ institute.
  • Aspirants looking to apply need to make sure that they complete their Post-MBBS internship before 31st March 2021.
  • Candidates also need to have a permanent/ provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or state medical council

Application Form

The application form for AIPGMEE 2021 or NEET-PG exam will release only in online mode. Interested candidates have to visit the official website of NBE i.e. www.nbe.edu.in in order to apply.

  • To start the application form submission, the aspirants need to register by providing details like Name, Date of birth, etc.
  • Candidates will receive their login credential on their email and phone number after registration.
  • Then, the candidates have to sign-in and fill rest of the details in the application form.
  • Please note that the fields with (*) sign will be mandatory to fill.
  • Additionally, the applicants have to upload the images of their passport size photograph and their signature.
  • At the time of application form submission, the candidates also need to select their exam center cities.
  • The application form submitted by an aspirant will not be considered valid unless he/she pays the required application fee.
  • Download and save a copy of the submitted application form and fee payment receipt for future reference.

Application fee

Application fee for AIPGMEE Exam 2021 (NEET-PG) will be submitted through online payment gateways using a credit card, debit card or internet banking. The fees that the applicants of different candidates have to pay are as follows:

  • General and OBC candidates: Rs. 3750/-
  • SC/ ST/ PWD candidates: Rs. 2750/-

Exam Pattern

As the AIPGMEE 2021 exam is replaced by NEET-PG, the aspirant should prepare according to the pattern of NEET-PG exam only.

  • Mode of conduct: Computer-Based Exam (Online)
  • Type of Questions: MCQs with 1 correct option
  • Number of Questions: 300
  • Exam Duration: 3 hours and 30 minutes
  • Maximum Marks: 1200
  • Marking scheme: Each question will carry 4 marks
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted in case of an incorrect answer.

Admit Card

  • The NBE will release the admit card around 1 week before the exam date
  • All the necessary information regarding the date, time and examination center address will be mentioned on the admit card.
  • The candidates have to affix their latest passport size photograph on the downloaded admit card
  • It is compulsory for every candidate to carry a printout of the downloaded admit card at the exam center.
  • In addition to the admit card, the applicant must have the following documents with them at the examination center.
    • One original photo identity proof (PAN Card/ Driving License/ Passport/ Voter ID/ Aadhaar Card (along with photograph)
    • Photocopy of the MCI/ SMC registration (Permanent or provisional). Please remember that this copy will be retained by the exam center.
  • Foreign nationals who are going to appear for the exam must have their passport with them at the test center.

Result

  • The AIPGMEE Result 2021 (NEET-PG result) will be announced on the website of National Board of Examination.
  • In order to be eligible for admission on the basis of NEET score, the candidates from different categories must score minimum qualifying marks. The minimum qualifying marks for different categories candidates are as follows:
    • General candidates: 50th percentile
    • SC/ ST/ OBC: 40th percentile
    • PWD Candidates of the general category: 45th percentile
  • Every candidate will also get a unique rank on the basis of marks obtained in the NEET exam.

Counselling

  • The NBE will not conduct any centralized counselling after conducting the exam.
  • Actually, the counselling process will be organized by the different university accepting the AIPGMEE 2020 (NEET-PG) score.
  • During counselling process, the concerned university/ institute will verify the documents of the candidates
  • The admission to various PG courses will be confirmed after the counselling process.
