AILET 2024: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Admission, Exam Pattern

The official notification for AILET 2024 has been announced by the authority. AILET Exam 2024 is going to be held on December 10, 2023, and the online application will be available on the university website from August 7, 2023, onwards. The entrance test will be conducted in offline mode only.

All India Law Entrance Test popularly known as AILET is organized by the National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) for admission to 5-year B.A.LL. B (Hons.), LL.M., and PhD programme. Candidates, seeking admission to UG, PG and Phd Law courses in NLUD, are needed to clear the AILET Exam.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the exam, candidates are required to check the AILET Eligibility Criteria carefully.  The eligibility criteria of AILET for different programmes are given below.

BA LLB (Hons)

Candidates should have cleared the Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 system) or an equivalent examination with minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category).

Foreign nationals must have secured at least 65% marks in the qualifying examination.

There will be no upper age restrictions for AILET.

Eligibility for LLM 

Candidates must have done LLB or equivalent degree with no less than 50% marks (45% for reserved category).

Eligibility for PhD

Candidates who have completed LLM or an equivalent law degree with no less than 55% marks (50% for reserved category) are eligible to apply for PhD courses.

AILET Registration 2024

The AILET 2024 Registration will be done online by visiting the official website of NLU Delhi. Candidates need to provide some personal details like their mobile number and email id on the user registration form. After the successful registration, candidates will be allowed to fill out the application form.

Candidates will have to select the relevant AILET 2024 Application Form and click on the ‘apply’ link. Enter all the mandatory details in the form carefully and correctly. After submitting the details, the candidate should proceed with the fee payment.

The fee payment can be made online mode only with the help of Debit Cards/ Credit Cards/ Net Banking.

AILET Exam Fee

Candidates belonging to the General/ EWS/Kashmiri Migrants/ Foreign Nationals/ OBC category need to pay Rs 3500/. For the Reserved category the AILET application fee is Rs 1500/.

AILET Exam Pattern

The AILET question paper for BA LLB (Hons) has three sections including Logical Reasoning, English Language, and Current Affairs & GK. The paper consists of a total of 150 multiple-choice questions. The duration of the exam will be 1 hour 30 minutes.  There will be a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer. The section-wise weightage of the question for AILET is provided below.

Syllabus of AILET

Candidates willing to appear in AILET 2024 are advised to check the AILET Syllabus carefully and prepare themselves accordingly. Admit Card

AILET Hall tickets will be issued to those candidates only who have done successful online registration. Candidates need to provide their application number and password to download the admit card. Take the printout of the admit card for future reference.

AILET admit card will contain details like the candidate’s name, date of birth, photograph, reporting time, exam details, etc. It is an important document to carry while appearing at the examination centre.

Answer key

The authority will release the AILET answer key within 24 hours after conducting the exam. NLU Delhi will declare the answer key in two modes i.e. Provisional answer key and Final answer key. The provisional answer key shows the correct answer against each question.

Candidates will be allowed to raise objections on the provisional answer key. After that, the authority will release an updated final answer key. Through the final answer key, candidates can roughly calculate their score for AILET.

Result 

The result of AILET 2024 will be declared most probably in December 2023. The result will be announced online by NLU Delhi. To download the result, candidates need to visit the official website of NLU Delhi.
