AIIMS PG 2023: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date

AIIMS PG 2023: Admission to MD, MS, DM, M.Ch and MDS courses offered at the AIIMS is done on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the institute itself. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the exam through online mode. Entrance exam will also be conducted online, i.e., as a computer-based test. The institute enrolls the candidates into these courses in two sessions- January and July and depending on their interest they can apply for any of these sessions. AIIMS PG 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Only those who fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed below should apply for AIIMS PG 2023 exam:

• An MBBS degree for MD/ MS course or a BDS degree for MDS course from a university recognized by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India is required.
• The candidate should have completed the required period of 12 months compulsory rotating Internship/Practical training on or before 30th January 2023 (for January session) or 31st July 2023 (for July session).
• Minimum aggregate qualifying mark for general/ OBC candidates is 55% and for SC/ ST candidates, it is 50%.

Eligibility for Foreign University Graduates

Indian National candidates who have been graduated from foreign Universities need to clear FMGE exam conducted by NBE scoring not less than 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST candidates).

Eligibility for Foreign National candidates

Foreign National candidates need to fulfill the same eligibility criteria as for Indian students. However, they need to obtain the certificate of grading system from their University/ Institution to determine the value of their grading in percentage.

AIIMS PG 2023 Application Form 

The AIIMS PG application process will consist of a basic registration, generation of code and final registration. Completing all these rounds is mandatory for the candidates in order to be able to appear for their exam.

First step will be filling the basic registration form by the candidates providing personal details like name, father’s name, email address, phone number, gender, category, nationality, identification proof, etc.

Important documents like photograph, signature, left thumb impression and other certificates, as applicable, should also be uploaded into the application form during the basic registration.

Once the basic registration completes, candidates will be allowed to make corrections in their forms. Registration status mentioning any deficiency in the documents uploaded will also be published on the website. 

Candidates should make all the required corrections in time to obtain the code for final registration. The candidates who got the code can use this to proceed towards final registration.

During the final registration, the candidates will have to provide their qualification details, choice for exam city and make payment of the prescribed application fee. After the submission of the final registration form, the process of online application will complete.

Application fee:

• Application fee payment can be done online using debit card/ credit card or net banking.
• For General/ OBC category the fee will be Rs. 1500/- and for SC/ ST/ EWS category, it will be Rs. 1200/-.
• Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities are exempted from payment of the fee.

The basic exam pattern for AIIMS PG entrance exam 2023 is provided below:

AIIMS PG 2023 Admit Card 

• The admit card to appear in the entrance test will be made available on the official website of the institute www.aiimsexams.org.
• Candidates will be able to download their admit card using their application number and date of birth.
• After downloading, the candidates need to take a printout of the admit card to be carried to the exam center.
• Applicants who report for the exam without the admit card and a valid id proof will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.
• Admit card must be preserved by the candidates as it will also be required at the time of admission.

AIIMS PG 2023 Result

• The result of the entrance exam will be released in online mode and can be checked from the official website of the institute.
• Marks scored by the individual candidate in the exam will be made available on the website. No separate score card will be sent.
• A merit list on the basis of percentile score of the candidates will be prepared in the order of ranking.
• Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be allowed to take part in the counseling round accordingly.

AIIMS PG 2023 Counseling

• Different rounds of counseling will be conducted as per the schedule decided by the institute.
• Counseling will be done online and the candidates will be allowed to provide their choice for the AIIMS during the counseling.
• Seats will then be allotted to the candidates as per their choice and their ranking.
• Candidate should confirm their seat and report to the respective AIIMS for admission. 
• Document, eligibility and biometric verification of the candidates will be done at the time of joining.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a working professional eligible to apply for the AIIMS postgraduate courses?

Yes. The institute offers the employed candidates admission into its postgraduate course. However, such candidates should inform their employer in writing that they are applying for the admissions.

Can I get my admit card through post?

No. The institute will only publish the admit card for the entrance exam on its official website. No admit card will be send via post, courier or any such means.

The details mentioned in my admit card have some errors. How can I get them rectified?

Discrepancy found in the admit card should be immediately brought to the notice of the Assistant Controller of Examinations AIIMS, New Delhi through email.

If I am not satisfied with my score, can I challenge the same?

No. There is no provision for re-checking/ re-evaluation of the answer sheets and no query in this regard will be entertained.

Since the exam is held in selected cities, how can I get the center or city nearest to me?

The centers will be allotted on the first-come-first-serve basis. In order to get the exam city of your choice, it is suggested that you fill the applications as early as possible. Also, make sure that you provide the exam city choice in order of preference.
