JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Aspirants need to verify their eligibility by going through the information related to JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria furnished below:
1.Date of Birth
Interested aspirants whose DOB ( Date of Birth) falls on or after October 01, 1992 can apply for JEE Main for the upcoming year 2017. Candidates belonging to PwD (Persons with Disabilities), SC (Scheduled Caste) and ST (Scheduled Tribe) category will be given relaxation in age by 5 years; such categories of candidates who have born on or after October 01, 1987 are also eligible to apply.
*please keep in mind, your date of birth will be assumed as it is mentioned in Secondary Education Board/University certificate.
2. Educational Qualification
Candidates should have cleared class 12th examination or its equivalent with five subjects either in the year 2015 or 2016. Candidates those are appearing in class 12th or its equivalent exam in the year 2017 can also apply.
****candidates who have appeared in the class 12th or its equivalent exam in the year 2014, didn’t pass, but cleared the exam in 2015 are not permitted to apply.***
Number of Attempts
The number of attempts for appearing in JEE Main is limited to three only.

JEE Main 2017 application form is available on the official website from 1st December, 2016. Go through the important highlights about IIT JEE application form availability and procedure to apply for JEE Main 2017:

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2017
- There will be two papers in the exam. Paper 1 will be conducted for candidates looking for admission to B.E/B.Tech program whereas; paper 2 will be organized for admission to B.Arch/B.Planning.
- Paper 1 will be conducted in online as well as offline mode whereas; paper 2 will be conducted only in offline mode.
- Paper 1 will have only objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics whereas, there will be three parts in the paper 2. The part 1 will contain questions from Mathematics, part 2 will have objective type questions on Aptitude skill and part 3 will be a drawing test.
- ¼ marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

JEE Main Exam Centers – 2017
JEE Main 2017 exam will be organized in both online as well as offline mode. The exam will be conducted across 125 cities of the country. Apart from India, the exam will be also conducted at Singapore, Kathmandu, Bahrain, Muscat, Dubai, Riyadh, Sharjah.

Ans: The allowable number of attempts in JEE Main is fixed to three only.
Ans: No, you are not eligible to apply. Candidates, who have passed class 12th in the year 2015 or 2016 or appearing in the year 2017, are only permitted to apply.
Ans: Yes, we received updates from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) that a candidate must have 75% marks (65% in case of SC/ST) in class 12th for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs. If you have less than 75% marks then you won’t be eligible for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs.
Ans: See, JEE Main is conducted in both online as well as offline mode. Changing exam mode in JEE Main is possible but only from the pen and paper based mode to the computer based mode.
